Publisher's summary

Moments away from finishing his enlistment aboard the Coast Guard cutter, Richard, Tristan finds himself trapped within the grips of suicide and an unbearable loss. Led only by his mentor’s words, that God has a plan, he sets out in search of adventure to pull himself back from the brink and find the answers he so desperately needs.

From Long Beach, California to the mountains of the Pyrenees in northern Spain, Suicide in Slow Motion takes the listener on a voyage of discovery through Tristan’s eyes, while confronting the horrors of PTSD and delving into the philosophy of self-destruction. It also seeks to answer the question that many veterans ask once they leave the military…what the hell do I do now?

Pettigrew master of the craft

Reagan Pettigrew the modern-day Cormac McCarthy and Denis Lehane. Reagan is a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran who shares his brilliant debut book "Suicide in Slow Motion, "A Veteran's Journey From Madness to Redemption." It's a book about loss and the weight of suicidal ideation about PTSD/ Self-destruction loosely through the eyes of a veteran Tristan.
Pettigrew is a master of craft and story-telling, and his use of words places you into the book as if you were Tristan experiencing the same stages, "From Madness to Redemption," similar to Homer's The Iliad and Odyssey. His book, and his way of writing, will blow your mind and have you on the edge of your seat the entire time, wanting more. This book is one hell of a start and will position him in the spotlight for years.
