Stripped is the story of a sheltered pastor’s daughter, Grey Amundsen who after family tragedy strikes heads to Los Angeles to attend USC majoring in film studies. This of course is after being disowned by her father if she goes to LA (a place that leads to sin). Grey is drifting along in life until her school informs her that her grant is running out of funds. After searching unsuccessfully for a job for weeks she decides to take a job as a semi-nude stripper. One night she’s forced to work the VIP room & meets the sexy gorgeous famous bad boy actor Dawson Kellor. He becomes transfixed by the beauty of this girl he has been watching dance. He can not take his eyes off of her. She's different from others girls. All he knows is he wants her. He wants all of her especially why there is sadness and desperation in her eyes. He's even more determined when both their paths meet again the very next day. This happens when she arrives at her internship for the first cast meeting for an upcoming movie, and finds Dawson starring as the lead. Basically , their whirlwind romance begins…. Very much a insta love fairy tale with a movie star who can have any girl but wants this sweet, innocent, mysterious girl. He is determined to have her at any cost. I enjoyed the book overall and thought the narrator was very good as well.

After the boring beginning... great story

This was awesome... well after the really boring beginning... When the h moves to LA to go to school and becomes a stripper to pay for college...the story really picks up... I think it's like 6 chapters in... You can literally skip like the first chapters...because they are boring...

Great H and great smexing... Totally loved this story... It reminded me of Love Unscripted by Tina Reber... which was awesome...

The H is a movie star but a normal guy... who falls inlove with the h, who is a really normal girl who is stripping her way through college...

So worth a credit... just the first couple of chapters nearly had me turning this off... but I hung in there and I am glad I did.

Narration was pretty good...

Stripped My Brain Cells

I found this story about a 20 year old film student incredibly boring (especially the first 2 hours) and too unbelievable for words. Grey goes to LA against her father's wishes, on a scholarship and she DOESN'T think she will need to get a part-time job. No, she waits until she is desperate & hungry, then becomes a stripper... Please! She's on campus for 2 years before asking about the details of her financial aid. Really?

Then a young, attractive millionaire movie star (Dawson, late 20s) comes into the rundown titty bar where Grey works and instantly KNOWS that Grey doesn't belong there. Dawson rescues Grey from herself; there's lots of drama, stupid misunderstandings and insecurity, and eventually hot sex. Dawson miraculously morphs from immature man slut to Knight-in-shining-armor, blah, blah, blah..

Jasinda Wilder is talented with great potential; she wrote some very funny moments and dialogue, However, this book should be listed as a young teen novel or the characters need to act their ages. I think Audible should give more detailed descriptions so that readers have a better idea of the content, such as age level, sexual content and level of violence.

Stripped is about Grey, a young woman raised in a very strict religious household who falls in love with film and decides to move to LA to pursue a degree and career in the movie industry. Her father does not approve of this decision so she goes it alone and when her scholarship money runs out she decides to take a job as a stripper to pay her way.

Immediately upon being introduced to Grey, I could not connect to her. I found myself disagreeing with and befuddled by her actions as she constantly came across as inconsistent and whiney. Warning - She cries ALL the time! It became very old, very quickly. I recognize that she was struggling with moving out on her own and away from the religious background she was raised in, but I wanted her to get her shit together and man up. I wanted to shake her and yell in her face. That is not a good reaction to have for a heroine.

I did love Dawson. He is such a kind and caring man. Don't know why he fell for Grey. Sadley i will not be listening to any other books by Jasinda. Must say Summer Roberts narration was great, loved the southern accent.

This is about a sheltered daughter of a preacher who runs off to LA to go to college and major in film making. She runs out of money and starts stripping where she meets a heartthrob actor and they fall in love....in like 2 days.

SPOILERS--This story is so dumb and is completely unrealistic even in the fiction world. If this girl isn't sobbing she is dropping names and price tags. She may have been sheltered but come on???? The innocent turn sex kitten back to innocent got exhausting. It was actually painful to listen to and I forced myself to finish it. If it weren't for the sex aspect I would recommend it to a 10 year old. (and I think I'm pretty old fashion!) I found myself getting increasingly irritated with the juvenileness and kept checking to see how much longer I had to be tortured. I cringe at the part where the guy proposes to the girl on stage at the academy awards. I think it tried to have all the "angst battered soul who is rescued by a hot millionaire movie star-ness" but it just was ridiculous. It was so bad I even feel guilty writing this in fear of hurting the authors feelings--sorry Jasinda. It just felll really really short.

However, the narrator did good! :)

Stripped was a story about Grey Amundsen, a pastors daughter who was sheltered all her life. Her dream of dancing and producing is all she wanted. With Grey on a short leash from her dad, tragedy strikes Grey giving her the opportunity to take her dream to LA to attending USC majoring in film studies. Grey made it thru 2 years of school with a sudden notice that her grant no longer going to pay for schooling- with months of job searching- lead her to the strip club. She knew how to dance, but being as innocent as they come taking off her clothes was something she could never get used to- with her tears and sweat mixed together- she hated it!. One night she was forced to dance for a VIP party- and that is where she met Dawson Kellor, a big time Actor, who saw her as a person Grey not Gracie such as her stage name. She wasn’t just a stripper- he wanted the real her. He knew she didn’t belong there. This is def a fairly tale story- the girl searching her way in a big city and the big bad actor swoops in and rescues her. Over all I really really enjoyed this book- and the audio is incredible- the narrator Summer Roberts flowed nicely- and you new the difference of the characters. Grey is from Georgia and her accent is wonderful and not forced- and I cant wait to listen to more of her stuff.

Would you try another book from Jasinda Wilder and/or Summer Roberts?

No this one pretty much killed it for me. It wasn't too bad, but I can tell that her work isn't my cup of tea.

What was most disappointing about Jasinda Wilder’s story?

I wanted to slap the main character, Grey, in this book. I understand that she's been sheltered and doesn't have any idea about sex, but my gawd she's a stripper, I wanted to slap her because she's so backward. She had to have been exposed to something working at the club, but she came across as being utterly and completely unexposed and clueless. There's naive, then there's just stupid.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Summer Roberts?

As long as she didn't use that accent; her narration was great. I couldn't stand the accent.

I love Jasinda Wilder; I do! Alpha had me weak in the knees and I had such HIGH hopes for this book. I struggled to listen to the entire thing because I paid for it.

Predictable Story, Nicely Told.

Stripped was entertaining despite being predictable. There was nothing standout about it but I enjoyed the story and it grew stronger during the second half of the book. I adored the ending - I'm a sucker for those HEAs.

Highly Entertaining

I really did like this book, I was entertained the entire time and was completely invested in the characters and storyline.

The thing that was stopping me from falling in love with it was the constant plot changes. What started out as a sheltered girl who just wanted to dance, turned into a story about a girl who turned to stripping to pay for college who was swept off her feet by a famous actor.

Then towards the end, it shifted again into dealing with family issues and a near sexual assault.

I just wish it could have stuck with one or two of those storylines and it would have been a perfect 5.

Summer Roberts is an awesome narrator and this book was no exception.

I'm most definitely moving on to Trashed. Jasinda is one of my new favorite go-to authors.

tender story

Great introduction and setting of scene, you really understood how the female character personality was shaped.
Very enjoyable story, wholey predictable. The build up to and including the sex scenes were so descriptive that any eroticism was lost. So the second half of the book was very samey and I was left underwhelmed. Refreshing to have a sexy story that wasn't lewd though.
The writer was good, nice vocabulary and paced balanced story, I'd definitely read other books of hers.
Well narrated loved the Southern accent, I'm English so I don't know how authentic it was, but it worked for me.
