I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way. Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.

Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.

Nell Hawthorne is in love with her life-long best friend, Kyle Calloway. Their young love is invincible and life is full of promise; then one night Kyle dies suddenly in a tragic accident and Nell is forever changed. She meets Kyle's older brother, Colton, for the first time at the funeral. They both struggle to move on with life as best they can. Years later, they meet again in New York City, and Colton realizes that Nell has never really gotten over Kyle's death. She seems to be harboring a deeply rooted pain, a heavy weight of guilt, and regret. He knows he shouldn't get involved, but he can't help himself. Trust doesn't come easily for either of them, and they both have demons. Together, they learn the purpose of pain and the meaning of healing, and the importance of forgiveness.

Loved the story but wish the narration could have coincided with the book. Male voice for Colton, female voice for Nell. When they are both talking, why not let the narrators read the parts? Maybe there are rules.

Heart Wrenching Story

I didnt give this book 5 stars because it was just too sad for me. I listen to audiobooks to get away for a while from the real world and this story just was too sad. The characters are deep and the story IS good, but break out the tissues because you WILL cry.

Ripped my heart out!!!!!!!!

I enjoy romance every so often but never reread. I have reread this story many times. The story is much more plausible than most romance stories and I don't find myself constantly rolling my eyes. The narrators are amazing and really give life to the characters.

One of my favorites

What did you love best about Falling into You?

I cannot even pick one thing. I LOVE this love story. I listen to it repeatedly when I want to feel true love. I am a 45 yr old woman, married almost 20 years, not a young adult as this book was geared for but I fell so in love with these characters its just ridiculous. lol.

What did you like best about this story?

That Colton was always there to protect her and was always drawn to her.

Have you listened to any of Gabriel Vaughan and Piper Goodeve ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this was the first book I heard of theirs. I love them. And then I just googled them and read their love story. OMGOODNESS..

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes. I was obsessed. downloaded the play lists for the books etc and so forth.

Any additional comments?

After listening to this and the rest of the books, I was sooooo heartbroken to see the series come to an end. I am hoping that Gabriel will do a audio for Falling for Colton.

Completely Obsessed!!

I don't want to give anything away and for the most part it was a good story up until the middle, I guess. I didn't like that their tragedies we're pretty much the same thing except with different people and in different situations. So I was pretty much like, really!!!I just heard the story twice in the same book but in a different way. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I liked it but

I'm conflicted with different thoughts and emotions as I try to describe this book. First of all I really liked it; as in I listened to it within 24 hours and actually lost sleep because I wanted to know what would happen next. But at the same time I felt like I listened to two different books. The first half of the book gives us the story of Nell and her first teenage love Kyle. He was her first everything and it is a sweet romantic story that ends very tragically with Kyle dying of a freak accident in front of Nell. She is traumatized by the experience and completely consumed by grief. Up to that point the story was a nice PG 13 romance.

Then the second half of the book does a 180 and turns all 50 shades of strange. First she meets Kyle's brother who she kisses within a day of her boyfriend dying (strange), then an incredible coincidence has Nell and Colton meeting two years later in NY and they start playing music. Colton is completely in love at second sight with Nell and follows her to her apartment. The romance goes from PG 13 to X pretty quickly and then it feels like a totally different story of two damaged people finding redemption and love in each other. There was a lot of drama, more loss and them accepting their perfectly imperfect lives and love.

If you don't overanalyze the holes in the story you will absolutely love it. The narration was very good because the story has dual points of view and the narrators nailed the emotion needed to bring the story to life. I recommend it.

Very good but could have been so much better

Weak character development and lots of hard core porn. Not a fan. I'm not getting any more from this author.
