Story
An off-duty Coast Guardsman is fishing with his family when he calls in some suspicious behavior from a nearby boat. It's a snazzy craft, slick and outfitted with extra horsepower, and is zipping along until it slows to pick up a surfaced diver...a diver who was apparently alone, without his own boat, in the middle of the ocean. None of it makes sense unless there's something hinky going on, and his hunch is proved right when all three Guardsmen who come out to investigate are shot and killed.

Story
Joe Pickett is the new game warden in Twelve Sleep, Wyoming, a town where nearly everyone hunts and the game warden—especially one like Joe who won't take bribes or look the other way—is far from popular. When he finds a local hunting outfitter dead, splayed out on the woodpile behind his state-owned home, he takes it personally. There had to be a reason that the outfitter, with whom he's had run-ins before, chose his backyard, his woodpile to die in.

Story
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

Ike Randolph has been out of jail for fifteen years, with not so much as a speeding ticket in all that time. But a Black man with cops at the door knows to be afraid. The last thing he expects to hear is that his son Isiah has been murdered, along with Isiah’s white husband, Derek. Ike had never fully accepted his son but is devastated by his loss. Don't let FREEDOM fool you!
My goodness everyone was in trouble in this book and just about everyone's life was on the line. Sandy has been so busy trying to be a great mom to her boys she has realized that a piece of her is missing being fulfilled. Governor Mac may have just what she needs but what will Virgil think? Becky finds herself in some pretty deep water and Murton is so busy staying alive that he is about to explode when he finds out. Our team has some pretty huge issues happening. I absolutely love this series and I'm definitely going to miss listening to Mr Dorse reading to me and the great stories that Mr. Scott writes. You will not be disappointed, give any book in this series a try and you will be hooked! The great news is that a lot of the series is ready and waiting for you to binge read or listen to!

I liked that the author showed female empowerment and did it well not gratuitously. The dark and twisted nature of the story had many humorous moments too, and I enjoyed that aspect. This one kept me glued to it , and I couldn't stop listening. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Fighting For a Cause & Freedom
Virgil’s some what boss is missing.his job was to stem the illegal weapons .
Governor wants Virgil’s wife Sand to do something and she is intrigued. Secrets come out, and now the players are fighting for freedom. Some violence, along with humor. The narration by Daniel Dorsey was good.
