The Starsea Cycle, Books 1-3

De: Kyle West

Narrado por: Rob Brinkmann

The first three Starsea Cycle books bundled together.

Science got us to space. Magic got us to the stars.

The discovery of the Gates opened the stars to humanity—and awakened the Manifold, a force that gave certain people the power to command nature itself. These mages could ignite infernos, reshape matter, move objects with their minds, and even bend the wills of others.

But every mage eventually begins to Fray. After their powers nearly destroyed civilization in the Mage War, the League of Worlds took control. Now mages are identified young, exiled to distant academies, and forced into a lifetime of service.

Twenty-year-old Lucian Abrantes has always dreamed of leaving Earth and forging his own path among the stars. Instead, he is discovered to be a mage and exiled to an isolated academy on the ocean world of Volsung. There, his growing power draws him toward secrets buried since the war—and a prophecy that promised a cure for the Fraying, yet left billions dead in its wake...

Fantastic world building and a captivating story

Loved this first part of the series! Going to enjoy the rest. Love the story

Mid, at best

I had to listen to most of this book yet 1.2 or 1.5 speed because the narration seemed so slow.
the story also goes nowhere very fast, seems a bit repetitive about descriptions especially about the food and the academy. made it through book 1 and stopped Midway through book 2.
