good actors really short and no story

Total money grab. Good actioning but no plot. Only 1hr 40 minutes. Your money would be better spent elsewhere

Reads like a novella written by Jeri Ryan herself the housewife of a multi-billionaire. On top of that seven of nine is now in love with another woman holy bork Batman! reminiscence of the radio shows of the 20s with their noise effects. please give me my money back.

More Full Cast Star Trek audio dramas!

As a Trek fan, I’ve always been jealous of Dr.Who’s rich library of audio dramas staring original series actors, so I was beyond excited to purchase and listen to No Man’s Land. That it explored Picard’s most interesting characters and relationship was a bonus.

Trek tie-in media sometimes struggles to get the voice and motivation of the characters right, and in the beginning of this story, I was worried that they had gotten Seven wrong, but in the end her behavior was given a solid and in-character justification.

Great production values and the relationship between Seven and Raffi is has depth, is mature, believable, well-developed, and compelling. The “adventure” portion of the narrative never quite rises to the level of the show, and I think they would benefit from having someone more used to the audio realm co-write, but the point here is to get a satisfying adventure in your favorite story world with your favorite characters, and No Man’s Land delivers in spades.

To go political when no one wants to go!

This storyline is designed to push a political narrative rather than be a high quality science fiction tale which Star Trek is historical known.

I would highly recommend avoiding this book as the actual sci-fi story could be told in a two page memo.

Too bad you can give zero stars.

Disappointing

Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan are fine, but much of the supporting cast is amateurish, and the music is seriously annoying. A disappointment.

Short and sweet

A short and sweet missive that gives a deeper insight into Seven of Nine, Unimatrix 01. Much more than the romance between these two women was the thought process of each individually. Looking forward to Season 2 of Picard.

Amazing Production

This was a truly immersive listening experience. The production, from the performances and music to the sound effects and pacing, was outstanding.

As importantly, the emerging romantic relationship between Seven and Raffi, was handled with incredible grace, nuance and humor.

This a must listen for any Star Trek fan and any fan of dramatic audio.

Really short and honestly, not great...

I was really excited to find something to hold me over while waiting for Picard, season 2. Sadly, this was hard to like. I don't want to spoil the story, so I'll try to stay vague. The villain was one dimensional with stereotypical motivations. The solution to the problem kinda was borne of luck rather than some interesting reason. The random music was distracting. The biggest issue for me, though, was how short it was.

The protagonists were better (obviously Seven is a well known character) and it was great they got the actual actors to voice their parts. And there were some funny parts.

I need a Seven of Nine spin off TV series now!!!

Great. 10/10 audio experience. I’ve been a Seven of Nine fan since Voyager. Watched every episode and this audio extravaganza is exactly the kind of Star Trek adventure I need in my ears all day and night. I need this to be a serial Podcast or a New Spin off Series. Seven of Nine as a righteous Fenris Ranger with a funny motely crew of misfits and a burgeoning f/f love life is everything!!!

Extremely poor

Struggling to continue to listen to this, doesn't really work as an audio only story, if I could refund it I would.

Good performances, poor story

The performances of the cast are great, especially those of Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan.

Unfortunately it is let down by the story, which meanders and doesn't really go anywhere or do anything.

It is a shame really because Raffi & Seven are interesting characters but this doesn't really expand on them, or do them any real favours.

Filler

It was OK. Very much felt like filler rather than someone having a great idea for a story. The comedy was really well done. But the music production was very much pantomime and was laugh out loud funny. Worth a listen if you re desperate for the next Picard.

Limited story, but enjoyable & great performances

As an audio fiction fan, I really enjoyed listening to an honest-to-goodness full-cast audio drama for Star Trek. The real strengths of 'No Man's Land' are by far the performances of Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan, naturalistic and believable. A real test of a voice actor in this medium is this - can you sense they’re behind a mic, in a well-lit studio office? Not so, here.

This is the first time we've seen their characters romantically linked in earnest, and that aspect was believably written and not straightforward, in a good way. Each has their own personal motivations driving them, and they don’t always align, but neither character can shrug off the other. They are drawn to each other in a chaotic way.

It has to be said, though, that the quest thread, a Fenris Rangers mission, is a bit pedestrian; and the villain of the piece, a self-described Romulan Emperor, is a very one-note character, veering dangerously close to moustache-twirling territory. But the tone is very light and fun, with plenty of understated humour.  

There's some solid sound design (very nice acoustic guitar and piano scene transitions), though this being a largely non-Starfleet adventure, there is a dearth of familiar Trek sounds.  

On the whole, I would heartily recommend a listen. So-called full-cast audio dramatisations are largely untapped territory for Trek. We’ve had many audiobook readings, some with music and sound effects to enrich the tale – as well as giving the opportunity for Trek actors to vocalise their co-stars… Shatner’s Scotty has to be heard to be believed - but this is the first authorised audio drama released. It also speaks to the growing success of this format in a digital world. Not least because the potential for Trek legacy characters to return in vocal form is huge...

Just Brilliant

Fun, intimate, intriguing. A nice focus on two great characters with other fun folks mixed in who are well fleshed out. The acting was spot on. I wish Jeri Ryan would do more audiobooks her voice is wonderful to listen to.

enjoyable short story

I quite enjoyed this short story, full of excitement and great sound effects and special thanks to both Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan for their speaking roles

Good performance, disappointingly short, no plot

There was no story. I didn't realise it was so short when I bought it so I was confused when it ended as nothing really seemed to have happened and I didn't get that the plot had been wrapped up (apparently). Great performances but not worth a credit.

Great if you want more Seven and Rafi

I enjoyed the integrations between the characters more than the story, but I did enjoy it a whole lot. I'm happy that they expanded the romance between Seven and Rafi here, because honestly it took me a bit by suprise in the last episode of season 1 of Picard.

The preformanses are good. My only complaint is the music that signal a scene change sometimes doesn't fit the mood a 100%.

Loved it!

An engaging short story. Really enjoyed it, though I will say if you want an hours long novel, this isn't for you, but I loved it.
