This book is so good I'm angry about it

Disclosure: I don't have a thing for tentacles.
Well... I didn't. I didn't have a thing for tentacles when I bought it.
BUT I DO NOW!

I fell in love with the characters. He stalks her, but in a sweet, cozy way. He's immortal, so there's a massive age gap, but I never found myself questioning what this eons old being was doing with a 30-something year old human. They feel equally matched. She's savvy and clever, even though she's in a terrible place emotionally.

It's all about consentacles! He's so careful with her and attuned to her pleasure, and when she's accepting of him (and his tentacles), he just melts for her. They're such a cute couple.

Mild spoiler: Breeding kink that doesn't end in pregnancy! There's a "maybe someday" vibe but no on-page pregnancy, and it felt very right for the story.

Excellent read. I have like 3 new kinks. And I need the sequel to hit audible asap.

Tentacle-y Goodness, or em, Badness??

This is the 3rd book I have read/listened to that was written by this author. I have very much each enjoyed of these books. Ms. Lark can accomplish a lot of character development quickly in her stories. You have a sense of understanding the characters, and their journeys’ easily. The narration was solid! I really enjoyed this narrator. In this book, I found the flow the story very easy and natural. It did not seem forced. The female lead was very interesting to me, as the reasons she was doubting herself did not have to do with her appearance (which I find to be far too common in books). I absolutely loved the male lead. First, I loved that it was not a standard type of shifter. It was also delightful that the author paid homage to the mythology of the kraken and them bringing down ships filled with treasure. The spicy scenes were a good level of spice, while also being fun and creative. I really liked the way she can infuse humor in her characters without it being slapstick. There was also a good balance of intrigue within the book. I very much look forward to more books from her, particularly within this universe.

a consent focused relationship

I absolutely loved this book! I'm so happy how much the author focused on consent (especially with rose's profession. the scenes were creative and spicy as was the story! this is definitely going on my favorites list as not only a well written and not creepy romance book but also one ith a great plot and lovable characters

The world needs more monster romances like this!

I can see why when you request monster romance that Lillian Lark’s name comes up so frequently. I am looking forward to reading the rest of her books now, this was fantastically written, both plot and steamy scenes. The narration was perfect too, I hope more make it to audio soon!

I love how sweet and tender Gideon is, even when he’s not really doing the right thing (like the stalking lmao), it’s forgivable because he’s thinking about her first, always, and she’s so broken from her ex. He brings her out of her shell, helps her restore herself to her former sexual prowess, confidence, things her magic type requires.

And the chasing? The primal aspects were 🔥🔥🔥

AMAZING

This book gave me so many amazing goosebump moments. I love the description on many of the romantic scenes. And the desire that was explained was amazing.

Disappointing

N. Day did a amazing job with the voice of the many characters. However, the h witch being so weak and unable to make it through a single day without panic attacks dimmed any enjoyment.

This story is so unique and perfect! This has become my new favorite by Lillian! Now I’m off to restart this book and listen to it again!

This is my dirty pleasure book. Took a chance and bought it on here also. I have zero regrets. Will be listening to this over and over. Somehow Lillian made a Kraken so very loveable, and also filthy as sin. Great listen.

Bizarre but hot

I’m new to monster romances and this might be the weirdest I can possibly read… I’m not sure how I feel about the kraken as a hero, but hey, it was pretty hot!

Much more steam than story, I still appreciated Rose and her vulnerability/strength.

It’s worth a try if you can keep open-minded!
