Publisher's Summary
Dive into the secret, ancient, powerful world of two New Orleans families, the Deschanels and the Sullivans.
St. Charles at Dusk is the House of Crimson & Clover Series prequel, and can be enjoyed as a standalone story, or as an introduction to the series. You might also enjoy Beyond Dusk: Anne, the follow-up novelette.
A father's threats. A tragic accident. Unanswered questions. Oz Sullivan has finally moved past the tangled web surrounding his brief, but intense, relationship with the young, impetuous Adrienne Deschanel. Through his family, and successful career as an attorney, he has forged a tranquil predictability.
Then Adrienne unexpectedly emerges, with no memory of the life she once led. Her desperate attempt to flee the confusing and dark influences in the bayou instinctively propels her to the one face for which she has a name. Oz's world is once again turned upside down, as he must decide how to help her without losing himself entirely.
Set amidst the lush and vibrant backdrop of New Orleans, St. Charles at Dusk tells the story of Oz and Adrienne; of forbidden love, and startling heartbreak.

Lots of Drama
The author made New Orleans and all the subseqent plot twist so dramatic that I was caught up from beginning to end. I was not sure if I was going to enjoy it but I did. The narrator added a lot to the story. The action came through as well as the emotions.

Emotional Roller-coaster
Any additional comments?
A prequel to the House of Crimson and Clover. Beautifully well written story.
Love, heartbreak, suspense, secrets, loss, drama, mystery and a HEA all woven into another great edition to the series.
This is Adrienne Deschanel and Oz Sullivan's story which was only alluded to before.
Oz and Adrienne had a past relationship. When Adrienne disappeared it almost destroyed Oz. She has lost her memory and has been missing for 3 years. Suddenly Oz gets a phone call from Adrienne. She's alive. The story is told in the present and through flashbacks.
All of the characters in this series are so well crafted, thought out and developed you cant help but become attached to them and their world.
This book gives you a lot of back history on the families. Which makes it easier to understand who all the characters are.
LC Kane did a fantastic job with the narration. Very pleasant voice that fits the story perfectly. Nice even pace, voice inflections at the right times. Great character voices. She conveys all the emotions of characters. Well done.

Romance Full of Drama and Ups and Downs
This is my second book from this series. The author is a great storyteller and the story of Adrianne & Oz is full of drama and heartache.
The story is told in a dual POV which is my favorite so we can understand what is going on in both of the character's mind. The story does go back and forth between the past and present but it is not hard to follow.
The narrator does an excellent job bringing the story to life. There are no cliffhangers and the author wraps everything up nicely with a HEA conclusion.

Really Intriguing Mystery
Audiobook - Narration, LC Kane, Really Good. Good pacing, nice southern drawl, good storytelling.
This story was really different to me. It was a heartbreaking romance, but also very much a mystery. It takes place in different time periods and moves back and forth through those times, giving you background that relates to what's happening in the modern day.
I have to admit that I was kind of lost in the beginning and had to go back and listen again (but at least I wanted to listen again). I didn't really understand who was who at first and when it started to come together for me, I quickly went back and re-listened to the beginning. The story of Oz and Adrienne is a complex web of mystery, lies, betrayal and heartbreak and once I figured out who everyone was, I was enthralled right to the end and really enjoyed the descriptive narrative of New Orleans, the gardens, the people - all just beautifully painted with words. Lovely story!

Starts off a bit Slow ..
Any additional comments?
This book was based on a bunch of Misunderstandings and the dialogue "felt" YA,
if that makes any sense..
The book starts off a bit slow and jumped from character to character.
Angelique's and Adrienne's background was not really explained.
The best part of this book was that the background took place in New Orleans..
I didn't care for the narrator's, LC Kane, reading style and voice, so I switched to the kindle version to finish the book half way through it.

Loved it
I received this book for free by the author/narrator for an honest and unbiased review.
So after reading this book I'm pretty sure I can go to New Orleans and know my way around. The author does an amazing job of setting the scene.
Usually I'm not a big fan of age gaps between 2 main characters but this one worked.
I like the fact that this is written in 2 points of view, I think that really helps the reader understand both parties a bit better.
I also usually get a bit lost when we have flash back/forwards but I did not feel at all lost with this here.
I'm excited to read more about Oz and Adrian.
I really hope that ALL the books in this series come to audible or I will be terribly upset. This is the second book I've read/listened to in this series and I am absolutely loving this author and her style of writing.
The narrator did a great job, no complaints.
Worth a credit- yes!!
Happy Reading/Listening!!!

Interesting story, but perhaps over-dramatic
What did you love best about St. Charles at Dusk?
I loved finding out more about the characters which I have come across previously in this series. It was interesting to see where Oz and Adrienne had come from and how they had got together.
If you’ve listened to books by Sarah M. Cradit before, how does this one compare?
I didn't think it was as good as Illusions of Eventide. I really enjoyed the performance of the narrator in that one whereas I found the narrator a bit overdramatic in this story and so I couldn't take it as seriously. It felt as if every spoken exchange between every character was said on the verge of tears.
Have you listened to any of LC Kane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't so it would be unfair of me to make any comparisons. I may do though as I really do want to continue listening to the series and I know this narrator does almost all of the rest of them.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Unfortunately no. I got a bit frustrated with it as the characters all seemed so wilfully blind to what seemed blatantly obvious to me. And all of the secrets and not talking began to get on my nerves. It was a suspenseful story, but maybe a bit too much drama?

Enjoying this series
What made the experience of listening to St. Charles at Dusk the most enjoyable?
I haven't listened to the book in order so I get a little confused about the sequences. I'm glad this book was Adrianne's story and told of the accident and such as the last story I listened to was of Ann coming to visit and spend time with the family only alluding to Adrianne's story. So listening to this book sure answered a lot of stories and I look forward to continuing following this series.
Have you listened to any of LC Kane’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Only ones from this series and I think she is the perfect choice as her voice blends with that location and their speech.
