Publisher's summary

Being insatiably curious is a good way to end up dead.

Rain Christiansen, cold-case detective and reluctant medium, is very aware of that fact. But when infamous serial killer Thomas Kane wants to meet, there's no way Rain can say no. He also can't refuse Kane's offer - find his missing wife, Delilah, and he'll reveal the location of his victim's bodies.

Rain has never turned down a good quid pro quo, and he doesn't intend to start.

The hunt for Kane's wife leads to yet another cold case, three copycat murders, and an investigation where nothing is as it seems. Soon, Rain is dealing with a ghost unlike any he's ever dealt with before...a ghost capable of doing things he shouldn't be able to do. How can Rain control something he doesn't even understand? And what will he do when the unknown threatens the safety of the most important person in his life?

Rain is starting to realize that he can only battle the supernatural with the supernatural, and that is spooky business indeed.

Loved it, as always.

The ending nearly off'ed me. I'm fine. It's fine. I may never recover, but it's fine.

Rain Christiansen - need I say more?

I'm a straight woman and in a committed relationship and I can't believe I fell in love with a gay guy. rain christiansen' kept me laughing and on the edge of my seat. I look forward to reading other stories written by this author. I hope that they have the main protagonist in those books as well

OMG!!!!! I wish this series would continue forever!!

S.E.Harmon you are a masterful storyteller, I am so sad this 3rd book has ended and none to follow as far as I can tell!!! 😢

I absolutely loved this series…. Initially I was worried that it was going to be difficult to love book 2 and 3 due to the narrator change, but Kirt Graves is one of my all time favorite narrators so it was no issue… please continue with Kirt if there are more books coming!! Are there more books coming????

Rain and Danny are such awesome MC’s and the way their storyline has developed throughout the 3 books is so warm, fuzzy and hilarious… I am sure people thought I was crazy as I was laughing while driving, grocery shopping and so on while listening… I could not put my phone away …. ☺️

This series is worth any money or credits spent…. Just loved it ….

Sweet Story

The characters are endearing and funny. The mystery is interesting and emotional. Five stars for the characters mystery and romance. The only two things that would have take a star away was the graphic sec scenes and they are all over this story but then I decided not to be prudish and view them through the lens of inclusion! So I say skip 30 seconds if necessary otherwise enjoy the normalization of all types of intimacy and these fun stories.

Love this series

Rainstorm and Irish are back and there is a lot going on, there is a serial killer who thinks he’s so smart, victims who are not going to keep there hands to themselves, a lovely old lady who has bees and sells honey, sounds innocent enough, a crazy merry go round and a ghost who just doesn’t get it and it causes a great amount of heartache. I hope there will be more to this series. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Gotta love Danny and Rain

Another great installment in the Spectral Files. Kurt Graves narration is so on point. The dynamic between these two is just too much. I love every bit of it. There were times when I got a little confused with the mystery, and then the other mystery that overlay it,m. But for my listening time, I was primarily focused on the relationship. What a joy to watch these guys grow and still hold true to themselves. Can’t wait to move onto the next one. SE Harmon really delivers a great series.

I hope this series continues on

I've been loving this series so much. Rain, a ghost seeing police detective, and his partner in life and work, Daniel, are a great pair. It's great seeing their relationship grow, and also seeing Rain gain more control over his abilities to communicate with and help the ghosts haunting him. In this book, Rain has to solve the murder of a young man and also figure out what happened to a serial killer's missing wife and where he put the bodies of his victims. Surprisingly, the two cases, are entwined and Rain has to deal with a ghost who is menacing in his attraction to Rain. Of course, there is help in the form of Rain's psychic mentor, the paranormal investigation crew formed by the police department, and from Rain's quirky, hippy family. I love all the side characters that really fill out the story. There is a lot of tension and scary moments when Rain has to vanquish his first ghost, and a near death moment for Daniel that had me screaming inside. The end of the book offers up a sort of cliffhanger when the ghost of a killer who promised to see Rain soon (before he passed) shows up. Rain is gaining strength, but with both the ghost and Rain staring each other down at the end, I feel this story must continue into another book. Great narration by Kirt Graves, he is always awesome.
