Interesting short story

I'm a fan of author Brian Freeman and his Jonathan Stride modern detective series, but this short story is quite simply weird. It's as much a horror story as modern detective. Frankly, its not worth the cost and time.

PERFECT HALLOWEEN

The story was interesting but too short to develop the characters enough to care about them, except the son. Great potential, though. Loved the narrator, as usual.

Not a bad short story

I have seen movies and read books with the same concept as this story. Although it was a short story, it was a complete story. It's strange how the mind equates ants with mental warnings in this story. Narration was good. I think the story could have been a little better if it was longer and went into a little more depth.

Great story

I wish it was longer, I was disappointed to see that the audio book was only a little longer than an hour :(

A deliciously creepy read!

This novella creeped me out, and I LOVED IT! Brian Freeman definitely stepped outside of the box for this one.

Not long enough

That's it in a nutshell! To short. Felt unfinished. Story was great but I kept waiting for more based on his other books

What was he thinking?

I’ve been listening to Brian Freeman’s novels, in order. I have enjoyed the Stride series, until now. I can only hope this book was a short term break for Mr. Freeman. The story was stupid and not believable. I don’t know what was more ridiculous...the “bad guy” ending up the way he did or the actions of the 10 year boy. Don’t waste your money or time on this book. Story got 2 stars because I hit the stars wrong and couldn’t get the display to change.

Waste of money and time

I'm working my way through the series. this is probably the worst of the lot. skip this one. hopefully the next book is better. waiting for my monthly credit to show up so I can try the next book.
