Interesting short story

I'm a fan of author Brian Freeman and his Jonathan Stride modern detective series, but this short story is quite simply weird. It's as much a horror story as modern detective. Frankly, its not worth the cost and time.

Spitting Devil

Although this may have been a short story it was still worth the listen. There are other reviewers complaining about the short story but I enjoyed it 100%. A lot happened in a little over an hour and it was easy to follow. Between the short romance of Joe and Maggie, a wife thinking her husband was a serial killer and a smart but scared 10 year old boy this short story came together perfectly!

good story

Wish it was a longer story with a different ending. Story was great until the end which I dont want to spoil.

PERFECT HALLOWEEN

The story was interesting but too short to develop the characters enough to care about them, except the son. Great potential, though. Loved the narrator, as usual.

quick little mental adventure!

I enjoyed this piece. I've enjoyed each freeman story very much! I wish it had been a full sized book!

A deliciously creepy read!

This novella creeped me out, and I LOVED IT! Brian Freeman definitely stepped outside of the box for this one.

What was he thinking?

I’ve been listening to Brian Freeman’s novels, in order. I have enjoyed the Stride series, until now. I can only hope this book was a short term break for Mr. Freeman.

The story was stupid and not believable. I don’t know what was more ridiculous...the “bad guy” ending up the way he did or the actions of the 10 year boy.

Don’t waste your money or time on this book.

Story got 2 stars because I hit the stars wrong and couldn’t get the display to change.

Listen to your kids

Always listen to your kids- they might actually reveal a murderer…
Not an exceptional story in my opinion but still entertaining

Great little clip

Cool little story, even if it was a little cliche. I love Brian Freeman and Jonathan stride… so keep on keeping on.

Trick or Treat

A fun Halloween listen. It is a short story, but we know the detectives from the series. The other characters were developed as much as a short story allows: just enough.

Brevity is a charm..

Not sure if I have any true feelings about this story, only marginally pleased it gave a backstory hint of how Stride & Maggie had a brief encounter..

A novel tale.

Well put together. A suprising ending. I have not heard of this before only rats and squirrels.

Common story

A boogeyman that finally exists... A very usual story and the short length of it doesn’t let much space for something groundbreaking. The narrator's voice is a bit too spooky for the circumstances.
