Publisher's Summary

In the wake of their terrifying escape from Fairhaven Hall, sisters Jess and Hannah Ballard find themselves on the run, pursued by the two most powerful groups in the history of the spirit world.

On one side, the Durupinen, determined to capture the girls and prevent their role in an ancient prophecy that promises to destroy them and unleash the spirit hordes on the earth. On the other side, the Necromancers, ancient enemies of the Durupinen, hell-bent on bringing the same prophecy to fruition. When the girls are betrayed and one of them falls into the Necromancers’ hands, both face decisions with cataclysmic consequences.

Will the lure of power prove too great to resist, or will the bond between the sisters survive this last, most crucial of tests?

Spirit Ascendancy is the much anticipated third and final instalment of E.E. Holmes’ award-winning Gateway Trilogy.

YA for sure

I did stick with this story all the way through the trilogy. The story was intriguing enough to keep me involved. I would say the content is more Young Adult, it should be advertised as such.

absolutely loved this!

This was a great trilogy, this third book was even better than the first two! the characters were great the storyline was great and the narrator was great! I'm so glad she decided to change back to the original narrator! this is the first series of books I have read by E. E. Holmes but I am looking forward to many more in the future!

great trlogy

a really good story with the exception of a lack of timing of a confession in the midst of utter chaos that didn't seem the right place for it

Didn't like as much...

I have read (listened) to all the EE Homes Gateway series books. Some sections listening to this one I felt like I was listening to the same book again, rather than a continuing story.

Sound quality

i dislike the sound editing on this, at time the voice was tinny and very disjointed in parts, lacked fluidity

Dire

The first two books kept some interest going, but the third book in the series has me comatose. Nothing but whingeing and moaning. The storyline has disappeared. Wasted credit. Wish I could return it.
