Tarot Academy 5: Spells of Mist and Spirit by Sarah Piper ~~ This book was breathtaking! Piper dives into the question of how far you’ll go for the ones you love, and the answers aren’t easy. The enemy’s claim—that darkness lies within all Arcana—was a brilliant theme, and it carried through every confrontation. Spoiler alert: I loved how the mist and spirit elements were used to blur the lines between life and death, light and shadow, and it made the emotional stakes skyrocket. The love, the sacrifices, the betrayals—it all came together in a stunning way. The ending left me in awe and desperate for the next chapter of this magical journey.

✨ I absolutely loved these books! Each one pulled me further into the Tarot Academy world, and Sarah Piper never disappoints. I can’t wait to keep reading and see how this adventure concludes.

Narration makes and breaks

The story, the writing, the characters are all good. For me, a great narration can elevate a so-so book to great and can diminish a great work to bad memory.

I found both in this set. Stephen Dexter reads like a high school drama kid wanna-be. Over dramatizing, inappropriate inflection and an overall whiny tone with each characterization. Definatly on my "do not listen" list.

In contrast, Nicole Poole is one of the top 5 narrators working today. Her timing, tone and everyday conversational approach help to create a smooth, relaxed entertainment adventure. Her character voices are distinct and bring each character to life. I actually discovered this set thru searching for books where Poole is narrator.
The biggest marketing mistake was bringing in a second voice. Poole is strong enough to carry any book on her own.

I devoured this series

I absolutely loved and devoured reading this as an ebook while also listening to it because for the first time I found something that was both available on KU and audible! I enjoyed this a bunch and wish there were more like this!

what an ending!!

as someone who fell in love with this aeries this ending was both perfect and heart breaking!! I so want more stories of Stevie and her mages but the ending brought me to tears in the over and over again!!!

For a Grand finale this hits all it's marks, solid action, great drama, sweet moments, and tons of continuity callbacks that true solve any and all puzzles that the reader might have!!

10 out of 10! would highly recommend!!!

Favorite Series

This is one of my favorite series. It doesn’t go too fast and everything comes full circle in the end.

the overall telling of the story was amazing

the writer and author of this tail did an amazing job. the twists and turns the ups and downs and the love oh my goddess the love. the entire story is just amazing and if you truly want a wonderful read from front to back this entire series is one you will remember

Book Hangover

I love this series. I laughed, I cried, I blushed furiously and was thankful for listening with my earbuds 😄 When I pressed pause, all I could think about was when I could listen again. I'd intentionally take longer walks with the dog just to listen longer. But it has left me with a book hangover that I'm not sure will go away anytime soon. There's spice, oh boy is there! But it's written and narrated so well I often felt I was there myself. Listen to it-you won't be disappointed.
