Publisher's Summary

When your deepest, darkest fantasy shows up, get onboard. Special Delivery, Book 1.

Sam Keller knows he'll never find the excitement he craves in Middleton, Iowa - not while he's busting his ass in nursing school and paying rent by slaving away in a pharmacy stockroom. Then Sam meets Mitch Tedsoe, an independent long-haul trucker who makes a delivery to a shop across the alley. Innocent flirting quickly leads to a fling, and when Mitch offers to take him on a road trip west, Sam jumps at the chance for adventure.

Mitch is sexy, funny, and friendly, but once they embark on their journey, something changes. One minute he's the star of Sam's every X-rated fantasy, the next he's almost too much a perfect gentleman. And when they hit the Las Vegas city limit, Sam has a name to pin on Mitch's malady: Randy. For better or for worse, Sam grapples with the meaning of friendship, letting go, growing up - even the meaning of love - because no matter how far he travels, eventually all roads lead home.

This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.

Warning: This story contains trucker fantasies, threesomes, and kinky consensual sex.

Sexy with a swoon/sigh worthy ending!

Any additional comments?

I've now read this four times and each time I fall just a little more in love with Sam and Mitch and all their sexy shenanigans.

Wow, this one is just chock full of sex and kink - a little dominance, a little exhibition, the desire to be used and feel like a whore with a side helping of humiliation...well, yeah, the sex in this is pretty steamy.

There are also quite a few mind games played once Randy comes on the scene. Look, I'm just going to say it - I'm not a fan of Randy. I sort of wish he never showed up, even though he propels Mitch and Sam's relationship forward by providing some necessary pushing and as much as I hate to admit it, he's totally necessary to solidifying their relationship. And he sort of grows on me a little more every time I read this.

As for the narration, I felt like Iggy Toma really captures the characters so well. I loved his character voices for everyone, even when I was cringing while listening to Randy be all mind f**k and smarmy.

I enjoy the whole story: the characters, the plot, the humor...but it's the ending of this that always brings me back for more. *sighs* Man, I love that ending.

If you like books with lots of sex and a swoon/sigh worthy ending...you should definitely give this a go!

Love

This book was amazing, it not only had a great love story but the sex scenes were (fanning face) hot. The narrator was great with this book and Heidi writes a beautiful story. I cried a little and fell in love with the well developed characters.

The Feels

I have read this series at least 15 times and the addition of audio to a story both familiar and beloved is astounding. The range of Iggy's narration is incredible. I cannot recommend this entire series enough. Get the books but stay for the smoothly sexy voice of Iggy Toma.

Enjoyable

The narration of this novel was excellent! I enjoyed the performance.

The story itself is interesting, but from an emotional standpoint, it is not overly deep. Please do read the warnings on this novel. If any of the warnings make you uncomfortable, this is not the book for you. I very much liked the characters in the novel and the read was definitely worth my time.

WOW steamy...just WOW

Heidi Cullinan has done it again! This story was so different with a truck driver and a college student as the MC'S. I enjoyed the cross country trip with them and how they got to know one another. Their Vegas stop is so steamy I'm still smiling. I think I cried every time he parted with his mom's ashes. I loved this book and as always Iggy Toma you are my favorite narrator. I am in love with your voice!!!

YAP! I *still* don't like Randy.

Yeah, I know I'm in the minority on that one but it is what it is. Iggy Toma even gave him a quasi-smarmy voice that definitely did not help the cause either.

Sam, on the other hand, can still get into my pocket. I heart him so. He's such a kind soul with some smut-tastic desires. Bless him. I had forgotten how much spreading the ashes of his mother got to me the first time around but when he bought that little box! Right.In.The.Feels.

Mitch is perfect for Sam in so many ways: getting him out of his head and stopping his negative self-talk and making his desires ok without making him feel slutty in a bad way and, most importantly, making him feel desired and safe. Iggy Toma really delivered on Mitch's voice too. Spot on.

I enjoyed the road trip parts just as much as the kinky sex. I especially liked the sentence (paraphrased) where Sam's thinking about Utah and how beautiful it is but it being "someone else's beautiful", not his because he missed the green of Iowa. That struck a chord because I too love to travel and appreciate the beauty of those other places but there's no place like home.

Special Delivery is kinky, though, so if kink's not your gig... tread lightly. Spanking, humiliation, some bondage, DP, public sex and polyamory.

Even though the whole "romance" occurs over 10 days, I believed in their love. I don't begrudge the Randy aspects and I realize he played a pivotal role in bringing Mitch and Sam together, but still... not a fan. *shrugs*

I appreciated Toma's voice and delivery much more this go round than in Dance With Me. He differentiated all the characters with aplomb and conveyed the emotions well.

Recommend for atypical romance fans.

I keep returning

I can’t let go of the people in this series and keep coming back, just to hang some more. And Iggy Toma is an amazing narrator.

Unexpected Goodness

What made the experience of listening to Special Delivery: Special Delivery, Book 1 the most enjoyable?

I found this book by listening to another of the author's series Love lessons where these characters have a cameo. They drew me in enough I decided to give them a try. Great narrator. So glad I decided to try the series.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The interaction between the characters in this books is written so thoroughly that you feel with me. I even teared up some but laughed more than anything. The Vegas portion is hot and I am so glad this isn't a single title.

Any additional comments?

I hadn't thought about this book because trucker fantasy hasn't been an interest. Oh, how I had been missing out. Sam is sweet, funny. and kinky. Mitch is another great character. Oh, and Randy... his book is next. Woo Hoo!

Hot!

Any additional comments?

I read the Special Delivery series quite awhile ago but hadn't listened to them on audio. Then I listened to Short Stay from Heidi's Love Lessons series and found that it combines characters from both series. I got all fan girl excited and decided to listen to the Special Delivery series again.
Holy hotness Batman! I had totally forgotten how panty steaming hot this story is. Wow. I can barely string my sentences together for a coherent review. Just listen to this one. Igay Toma is perfect to narrate these stories. I have to say that the deep growly voice he gave Mitch was awesome.
There is some light angst in the story as well as a couple of tear inducing moments. All the good feels you could ask for.
