To save her lover’s life, Lira of Stone swore allegiance to a demigod known as the Dragon. She’s transformed into his weapon - the Dragon’s deathbringer, using her gifts to conquer nations and unleash demons. Yet there’s a part of Lira not even the Dragon can stifle, and the soul-reader must find a way to free herself before he declares war against the gods.
After the warrior Reyker Lagorsson attempted to overthrow the Dragon, Reyker’s soul was fractured. Now, he’s a shadow of his former self, and his battle-madness grows stronger by the day. Reyker will stop at nothing to kill the Dragon and his mysterious death-bringer before his curse consumes him.
In the final installment of the Frozen Sun Saga, Lira and Reyker face off as enemies, confront their worst nightmares, and make their last stand against the Dragon. But can a god be killed? And if so, at what cost?

The story lost its way, I think. The first two installments cajoled me into believing this was a romance. It can be called that in only the most diluted way. The first book sets up the lovers, the second book tears them apart, and the third book … well, let’s just say I was massively underwhelmed. This book is about the intrigue of war, about God’s beating their chests, about blood, maiming, pain, torture and more blood. Did I mention there was blood? I might go back and count the instances where it’s mentioned, talked about, experienced in one way or another, and dreamed about. I’m pretty sure the paper book would have the word at least once on every page. I am not certain of the purpose. Our heroine becomes afflicted with a condition, that as she describes it, would be extremely noticeable. Yet, yet she carries on as if something so gross and obvious didn’t exist. Those closest to her say nothing. Even the Hero gets super super close to her without noticing. It made me feel kind of ill.
The ending ties up pretty much everything, but if wasn’t bone weary, I might have a few questions. The outcome is a mix of triumph and measured defeat.
All that said, the greatest parts of the book are the narrators, and they are worth so much MORE than a single credit.
If You Like Blood and Pain and Torture….
