Publisher's summary

A Siege of Terra novella.

Listen to it because:

Discover the epic conclusion to the long journey of the Sisypheum through the Horus Heresy in a novella packed with revelations and action that expands the scope of the Siege of Terra.

The story:

The Shattered Legions crew of the Sisypheum, broken and at the end of their endurance, find themselves divided – torn between following their resurrected captain on a suicidal mission or obeying orders to return to Terra and rejoin their Legion brothers.

Following a series of garbled messages intercepted by the Kryptos, the divided warriors descend to the shattered surface of Luna. Here, their bonds of loyalty, duty, and their devotion to one another will be tested as ancient horrors of the earliest days of gene-manipulation are unleashed, and a long-buried secret is revealed.

A secret that will have far-reaching consequences for the future course of the galaxy, no matter who eventually claims Terra.

Good but short

The people giving bad reviews because a character in a sci fi book said stuff they disagree with politically need to go outside more.
The story was an interesting little ride with shattered legionnaires with an emphasis on the theme that the Space Marines were never as perfect as they saw themselves during the crusade.

Great read.

The book was entertaining and a good eye opener into the happenings on Luna during the Horus Heresy.

Great book!

Contrary to some reviews, I enjoyed this short book. Gained finality on the adventures of crew of the Sisypheum. Worth the read/listen.

so sad to see the series end

I was both excited and sad to see this novella being released, for I've grown to love the ragged crew and adventures of the Sisyphuleum, and look forward to and dread at the same time to find out how it will end.

I will be truthful and say that I shredded tears on chapter 11, but it was a glorious and beautiful conclusion. A toast to Mr Graham, and thank you for all the good times and bad on letting me share the journey of the Sisyphuleum... and look forward to the next grand epic that you will show us again!

Great ending to side story of the HH series

Great book but sad ending for the characters you come to know from Angel Exterminatus.

It’s…. Fine.

Ending this story was always going to be difficult, this ending is…. Fine. It opens strong but then kinda burns out, it’s not the grand finale I was hoping for.

Narration is top quality, as usual.

One character insults the space marines and a few reviewers seem to have taken it personally. Pretty funny.

Short and bittersweet

While taken aback at first at the length of the novel, I find the story is as long as it needs to be. Graham McNeill does a wonderful job of wrapping up this part of the Horus Heresy and the writing and Jonathan Keeble narration brought tears to my eyes more than once.
