Story
And Adeena Stuart is not bound by anything that will stop her from saving the man she’s fallen in love with, even though he’s been dead for almost 300 years. In book two of the Song for a Lost Kingdom trilogy, her music provides the portal to James Drummond who is fighting alongside Prince Charles Edward Stuart in the 1746 Jacobite uprising. Though their cause is doomed, and James is destined to die shortly after the Battle of Culloden, Adeena’s determination never wavers.

Be careful what you touch. My name is Darla, and people think I’m weird. I know this because I’m a telepath. After my second husband bails without a word, I’m moving back to my hometown, San Marcos, Florida, one of the nation’s oldest cities. I’m here to open a nearly 300-year-old inn and hopefully begin a new life. It turns out the inn comes with ghosts and other supernatural features. And the paranormal in my genes is going haywire. By touching an object, I can read the thoughts and emotions of other people who have touched it. Sweet emotions as well as memories of murder.

One is holding his rifle to her father’s temple, and the other is ransacking her mother’s purse. Though the Nazis find no proof that the family is Jewish, Sofie knows they have to leave. Although they find safety in a neighbor’s attic, they cannot stay there forever. Story
In ancient Rome, a woman flees for her life. Hidden beneath her blue cloak are secrets men will kill for - forgeries that prove the newly self-appointed bishops are pretenders who will stop at nothing to shape this new religion to their own ends. Two thousand years later, classical archaeologists Valentina Vella and Erika Simone stumble across an ancient parchment buried deep in the Vatican archives. To reveal Julia's legacy will put them in the crosshairs of a venomous Vatican battle for power and supremacy; to stay silent would make them complicit in an ancient heresy.

The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Publisher's Summary
Music is not bound by time.
Adeena Stuart and Katharine Carnegie were born nearly three centuries apart. Yet, their music and an ancient cello connect them to each other and to a man doomed to die in 1746 after the Battle of Culloden.
In book one of the Song for a Lost Kingdom series, Adeena receives an untitled musical score from her dying grandmother in Scotland. When the score is played on the oldest surviving cello ever made in the UK, the music connects Adeena directly to the past as Katharine struggles to find words to complete her symphonic tour-de-force in the midst of the Scottish uprising against Union with England.
But Adeena is not a scientist or historian. What she wants more than anything is to compose music and to join the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa. Just as she is about to realize her wish, she’s lifted away, out of her control, and immersed in her ancient family history. As she is buffeted back and forth between the worlds, she grows to want more of the past, even though the promise of her most yearned for dreams are coming true in 2018.
Not even her passionate boyfriend can keep her rooted in the present, especially when another man from the past falls for her and her music. Although unsure whether her time travel is a hallucination, she’s willing to steal a five million dollar cello to get back to the 1700’s.
Song for a Lost Kingdom: Book 1, begins a journey of discovery between two women who share the same musical soul and love for the same doomed man. Rich in history, romance, and paranormal science fiction, lose yourself in a story that will sweep you away in a mysterious time-slip adventure.

Slow and steady
struggled with this book partly because of the narrator and her accent when she's doing one. partly because it's slow to get going. I got to chapter 11 and nothing exciting had really happened.
I've only once given up on a book before, and I'm sad to say that this is my 2nd time.
The story in principle is a good one, I dont want to give away spoilers but the connection of one family member to another 300+ yes previous is intriguing. I just couldnt relax into the story with this narrator. she didnt make anything sound exciting even when the chapter or paragraph asked for it.
That let it down big time for me .
I may have to read the book instead of audible. then the voices can be how my mind thinks of them.
Dont let this stop you from giving it a try. Another listner no doubt will like it.
