Publisher's Summary

Solemn Duty is the 11th book in the Survivalist series.

Fleeing an army of the infected, Deputy Marshal Mason Raines is forced to enter an area overrun with lawlessness. When his ex-lover is kidnapped, he must negotiate her release with a brutal warlord set on expanding his empire. Coerced to do his bidding, Mason is recruited to hijack a secret convoy running between the newly-established colonies. After discovering it contents, however, he must decide between the life of someone he loves and those of the pandemic’s last survivors.

Meanwhile, Tanner and Samantha continue their pursuit of the gold stolen from Fort Knox. When they discover the train used to carry it away, they also encounter a small community plagued by grotesque body-snatching mutants. To recover the gold, they must undertake a dangerous quest to rid the area of the hideous monsters. But as the journey takes them into an abandoned missile silo, they make a discovery far worse than any they could ever have imagined.

After taking her revenge, Issa awaits Tanner’s return to Mount Weather. When a young widow is brutally murdered, she must uncover not only her killers but also their reasons behind it. Discovering that the killing was a precursor to something much larger, Issa must choose between the safety of her unborn child and that of the community’s beloved matron.

Another winner!

Bradley does it again. And Farrell does an excellent job of bringing it to life with the audible version. Love the quips between Samantha and Tanner. Can't wait for book 12 to come out with audio version.

Continual great story

I love the funny banter between Sam and Tanner. They are a great pair and I giggle at some of their discussions. Mason & Bowie are always such a great pair (Man & dog). I am looking forward to book 12!

Family and Duty - all that really matters

The 10th book in the series and as usual a great listen! The author continues to consistently develop the characters as he progresses the story arc, calling on past themes but always injecting new ones. Faithfully he weaves preparation lessons throughout so the listener/reader always has the ability to learn something and "put a new wrinkle on the brain." A solid series.

Story still going strong

Many series tend to lose their momentum once they hit more than eight books; however, Dr. Bradley’s Survivalist series is still going strong. He does an excellent job keeping the action going, the banter rolling, and the story interesting. Solemn Duty is now one of my favorite books within his series. It kept me glued to my iPad as I followed Mason, Tanner and Samantha on their adventures. The characters are one of the things I enjoy most. Deputy Marshal Mason Raines is someone I’d love to know in real life, and the interactions between Tanner and Samantha crack me up. John David Farrell now has me trained to know who is speaking just by his voice, and his voice is one I could listen to every day. Excellent performance.

Excellent Series

I thoroughly enjoyed the first eleven books and now I must wait patiently for the twelfth... unfortunately, patience is not one of my virtues.
