Sometimes the best detectives…
Have fur.

Evelyn Foster has just moved to Granite, Michigan, and at first, the town is just as she expected it to be. Small. Insular. Quiet. On the upside, she gets to spend every day working with her best friend, one of the customers at the local coffee shop was definitely flirting with her, and her two German Shepherds seem to enjoy their new rental house and its fenced back yard.

Boring isn’t bad, and life could be worse.

When her younger dog, Atlas, alerts on a patch of dirt while they’re out for a walk, Evelyn’s heart rate accelerates, but she tries to keep things in perspective. The pup’s job is to locate human remains, but he’s still in training, and Eve is certain he must have made a mistake, but she contacts the police just to be on the safe side.

When a man, whom everyone thought had run out on his wife, is unearthed, the sleepy town suddenly wakes up and Eve finds herself reluctantly swept into a murder investigation.

Will she be able to unravel the mystery and become the talk of the town? Find out in this dynamic new Canine Cozy Mystery!

Cozy mystery, 2 German Shepherds, strong female lead, excellent writing, and a fabulous narrator? SAY LESS.

Book 1 of the Search and Rescue Cozy Mysteries is a fast-paced and fun introduction to Evelyn Foster, and her dogs Atlas and Willow. Willow is a live-rescue dog, while puppy Atlas is in training to be a cadaver dog. Of course, finding a real dead body during a training session with Atlas was not what Eve was expecting.

Eve, and all the other characters are brought to life through Julie McKay's solo narration. Sniffed Out really gave Julie the opportunity to highlight her vocal talents.

What a fun series! I love small town stories, where everyone knows everyone and is in everyone's business. Eve's desire to have a chill life with her rescue dogs comes to a halt when they discover a body in the woods.

This book is paced well, the story never drags and it's engaging. Julie does an amazing job managing the solo narration. Her male voices are so good! Definitely worth listening!

This was a simple and short mystery. Patti Benning did an amazing job in creating an easy story to follow along with. Julie McKay does a great job in being able to help readers distinguish between the characters in her narrations.
This is our introduction to Eve and her search and rescue pups! Between Eve’s keen eye for details, investigative skills, and, of course, the dogs, she is able to help solve an unexpected murder!

Cute mystery!

I got to listen to this through Blue Nose Audio and it was the short, easy read I needed in my life. Julie Mckay, AKA Maxine Mitchell, was superior as always with the narration.

I'm a dog person. Even more, I'm a shepherd person, having had a sable shepherd for 7 years. Winnie, the older shepherd, being described as sable and Atlas, the young boy, being a standard saddle back black and tan, made me think of my own girl, Siva, and how much joy she brought into my life.

I actually wanted to train her in Search and Rescue and Therapy but she developed mobility issues that took priority in our lives.

I loved the simplicity of this story. We had a beginning that gave enough back story of the main character, Eve, and then it went straight into the story line. It had just enough mystery to keep me guessing and I didn't figure it out!

It was a quick, two hour listen, which was perfect for my work day.

I didn't realize there were 36 (!!!) total in the series and I cannot wait to continue.
