Publisher's summary

I should have never looked into Raphael or the mysteries around him - mysteries I might never be able to solve. Stonewalled, I’ve gotten stuck when it comes to him. My roommate, my…mate; not that he knows what he really is to me. The less he knows, the better, but without being able to find him answers, I have to get back to my job. I’m at the back and call of the Tribunal, and I’ve been lax with my duties. It should have been a routine, but when someone makes enemies as dangerous as I do, nothing stays that way.

As the world spirals out of control, I can’t help but think this has something to do with him, the mate I don’t want and the partner I’m forced to keep close. With unanswered questions swirling around me, only one thing is certain.

I’m Kaliya Sahni, a Tribunal executioner and the last nagini. Someone wants me dead, and I walked right into their trap.

Down the Rabbit Hole

I’m loving this series! The plot is incredibly captivating and, of course, the characters - main and side - have me alternately grinning and gasping with their perfect imperfections. The conspiracy around Raf thickens with this sequel and I’m here with my Sherlock cap on, ready to dive into the next book!♥️ I adore the relationship and way it blooms throughout this book and can’t wait to see how it all goes in the next one!

Love this book!

Kaliya is so cool, I love her name! I love Raf too, I'm so happy that things are starting to pick up between them. I can't wait to find out what happens next! This narrator does a fantastic job. I really enjoyed listening to this book on audible.

Good series

I am enjoying this series as well as the other one in the Tribunal universe. Although this series can be read as a separate one, I always enjoy it when characters from the other series becomes part of this story. I like the action, the delving into the morality of their actions and the Romance of course. I also appreciate that even though there is a sexual scene it is not erotica. I also enjoyed the narrator. There were some times when I could not determine the differences between character voices but I’ve also been known to have a ‘tin ear’.

Loved loved loved it

This is such a good series! I already loved KN Banet for her Jacky Leon books and was craving some new material! Decided to give this series a chance and it did not disappoint. Also the reader on this series is just as amazing as the one that does Jacky’s!

Bad Habits

The story was good, though it does feel like it's flagging a bit. I have lost a little excitement and may take a break before moving on to the next book.

There is something that has really become annoying, which I believe may have begun in the previous book, but is definitely more pronounced in this one: the repeated use of "the not-human" and "my roommate". I get that his species is yet unidentified, but it begins to feel really awkward and clunky.

And the "roommate" thing is even more cringe. He obviously isn't just an ordinary roommate. I can only assume this descriptor is used to underscore that, though we all know very well he is the love interest, for now, she is determinedly keeping her feelings toward him non-romantic. But, after once or twice, we readers are smart enough to get what you're conveying. No need to beat us over the head with it.

Don't get me wrong, I like this author. I'm not sure if she is self-published, but it seems like this little bad habit should have been caught by an editor. Nevertheless, I am still interested in where this story will go, so I will pick it back up after a little break.
