EXCELLENT

As a 40 year old woman this book is one the most influential and informative messages I have ever read. It is straight forward. To the point and EXTREMELY necessary for me to understand as I am choosing to move forward in my life and grow. I don’t want to hand my debilitating insecurities down through my family tree. I want my legacy to be the one who broke the curse of insecurity once and for all. That my children will know they have purpose and can stand firm in their values. To be strong, loving, and courageous in thier lives as adult men!

Thoughtful advice for insecure personalities

Most of the advice here is timely and applicable. Chapter 7 felt preachy, with a good message however, it's just a striking departure from the rest of the book.

JD Ledford narrates magnificently. Incredible performance! And whoever edited the audio really knows what they're about!

Same as his other book

Saw him on a podcast and liked what he was saying so got both his books. They're largely the exact same text; would not recommend both. One will get you any useful info that's to be had. Overall did not find it helpful for practicing any meaningful changes in behavior. May try the book by a different author he recommends at the end.

Great Start for working on Attachment Issues

I first heard of Adam Smith on the Mikhaila Peterson Podcast and was very impressed with his insight. I wanted to learn more so I bought this book and his other one and was not disappointed. This book is very insightful and helpful for anyone struggling with insecurity and attachment issues. Highly recommended for anyone who is struggling in relationships, be in family, friend or martial. My husband and I began implementing a lot of his suggestions and almost immediately found some peace in areas we were struggling.

Good read!

Really great book. No bs. No fluff. I really wish more authors would condense the important things into fewer chapters like Adam does.

Game Changer

This book is a salve for all of us that struggle to understand ourselves and the world around us. The narrator was fine, but I would have much preferred to have h
read it read by the author.

Offensive narrator.

What kind of narrator puts on a whiny childish voice when voicing a woman saying her husband is abusive? I can't get past the awful narration to finish this.

Harsh but Fair

Good narration, it's expressive and funny in parts. The levity is a welcome break from the serious nature of the book.

Admittedly listening and applying the concepts and reflecting was difficult but worthwhile.

Challenging and insightful.

Useful for anyone wanting to help themselves and who has an interest in personal growth.

Not for the faint hearted.

It Reached Me.

I suffered my own loss of confidence and doubt, shortly before this book came out. Listening to it made me go over what I'd been through and realise there was a light at the end of the tunnel, I just had to get there.
