Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
While still in mourning for his beloved wife Francis, Thomas Bennet is compromised. Forced to marry a woman he cannot esteem, Mr. Bennet worries over the safety and the upbringing of his cherished daughters from his first marriage. Determined that his second wife will not be allowed to treat his girls poorly, Mr. Bennet arrives at the Gardiner home in London with Jane, Elizabeth and newborn Mary. Their lives take a very different path from canon in this clean, low angst retelling of Pride and Prejudice. Historical Fiction Marriage Regency Historical

Unlike any JFF I have listened to so far. First, the virtual voice narration was better in this book than any other verstion I have heard. Really good except for a few mispronounce words.
Mr. Bennett gave Jane, Elizabeth and Mary away to the Gardners because he was tricked into marrying a totally horrid woman after his first wife, their mother, died. The new wife gave birth to Katherine and Lydia. The first three Bennett girls grew up very happily with the Gardners. Georgianna, Charlotte and Ann de Bourgh became their friends. Mr. Gardner became friends with Charles Bingley, Darcy, Richard Fitzwilliam, one of the Lucas boys, and George Wickham. Ironically George Wickham was a good guy in this book. The "girls" and "boys" paired off as appropriate. The second Mrs. Bennett and her slutty daughter Lydia raised their hateful heads, along with Rev Collins, but were disposed of quickly. Over all a very good story.

Very interesting

This was an interesting take on pride and prejudice. Mrs Bennet dies giving birth to Mary and within the year mr Bennet is compromised. He dies not want his dear girls close to the new Mrs Bennet. Great story.

Good story

Creative (albeit unlikely) beginning with Mr B giving his oldest 3 girls to the Gardiners but wonderful for them. Again, unlikely setup of Lady Catherine and Anne coming into the Gardiner family, but good for all of them. Then, another, maybe not quite as unlikely event with Georgiana joining the Gardiners. This has now become quite a family - with great connections - when we finally have Darcy meet Elizabeth. Later, there are more matches beyond Jane and Bingley, but I will leave that to the listener. No Angst in this tale and very little real conflict. For anyone wanting a sweet P&P with interesting details and little drama, I recommend this story. The Virtual Voice is much better than usual with the occasional mispronunciation or emphasis.

Very Interesting Variation of P&P with Great Dialogue

In the spirit of a Jann Rowland “slice of Regency life and times,” Victoria Lynn has captured a quickly moving saga of three different family situations that pose several “what if’s”. Even though there are about 16 chapters of story before D meets E, it’s still a meeting worth hearing. This style of story doesn’t have anyone kidnapped or otherwise endangered, and yet is a very enjoyable and descriptive narrative. Too bad it’s narrated by a computer.

Wait for it… “…more than tol…”

I didn’t recognize any of Jane Austin’s characters. Wiccan was a goof guy in this telling. The story was a little too sweet. I think there were misspellings because the virtual voice spoke some weird words. The virtual voice got tiresome to listen to.

The story line was unique
