Publisher's Summary

Between being hunted by vampires and her inability to control her siren’s powers, all Adelle Constance wants is to be left alone. She didn’t count on meeting Jack, a cranky 900-year-old dragon who, despite her protests, vows to protect her. She also didn’t count on him being so deliciously attractive in that grumbling way.

Jack has no desire for a mate, yet somehow he's suckered into protecting a beautiful siren who can make things explode just by raising her voice. Reluctantly he takes the alluring Adelle under his wing, finding her quirky charms irresistible. And when angry vampires come to take her back, the dragon finds he’s not giving her up without a fight.

Great story!!

This is a great start to a series! Great character development and chemistry between H and h. The magic system/world in this series is AMAZING! I love how dynamic it is.

This series is to die for.

I've lost track of how many times I've read/listened to this book, but every time I do I get to live a tiny piece of a fantastic life all over again. Great writer, great narration. Just great.

Oh This was a Surprise, but a DANG great Surprise!

Can’t believe how few people have found this wonderful book. It’s funny at times, sad at times, sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat sometimes, and I just loved this book. I love Adelle and Jack, together and individually. Both were awesome.
Valerie is strong and tough and Phoebe is sweet and funny and loved the bear.

Never listened to a book narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo, but I have to say he is probably the best male narrator who can do so many voices, especially women’s voices, without making woman screechy and painful, every voice was easy to detect each different character. A+++++

I’m on to the next book! Hope Cynthia Diamond continues this series.

What an exciting story

This is one of my favorite books I read this year! I loved the story, I was laughing through out the whole book. Even until the end. I love the characters! Jack is my absolute favorite book boyfriend Ever! I love the tattoo shop scene (since I myself am a tattoo artist. And it was perfect) I’ve never listened to a paranormal romance book by a male narration, what a treat. Normally, woman Narrators do a pretty good job by doing the male character voices, but this was in a whole different level. I’m can’t what to listen to book two!!

My first romance audio book

This was a great book. I own the paperback and it translated great to audio. I was a little unsure about listening to a romance story but the narrator really brought the characters alive. I really loved the book and I can't wait for the second one to come out on audo!

Fun and Entertaining

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would absolutely recommend this book to a friend. It was a great story line and the characters are well developed and likeable. Also, the narration is one of the best I have heard in a long time. The various voices make the story come to life.

So glad I picked this book up!

I loved reading this book so much I had to get it as an audio book for on the go and I am so glad I did. The story is great, the characters interesting and lovable, and the narrator is so good you will never find yourself thrown out of the story. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic book

I’d never heard of this author, but knew I liked the narrator, so thought I’d try this book. So glad I did - I loved it! It reminded me of the feel of the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole, and The Four Horsemen and The Bargainer series by Laura Thalassa. Maybe Larissa Ione’s Demonica series, but it’s years since I listened to that one but I think I liked it.

This books had a great balance of plot, relationship development, chemistry etc. Definitely listening to book 2 in the series next.

I really tried to like this book...

This book was in my Audible suggestions and after reading the reviews I was really excited to listen to the story. The reviews were the only reason I didn't return it after the first 10 minutes.
If I were being generous, I would assume it was meant for teenage readers. Otherwise I would just say it was poorly writren.
The characters emotions and responses were erratic and everyone "wags their finger" and "bites their lip".
Also, there is a "grumpy 900 year old dragon" who is a quick crier?
I listened for longer than I would like to admit hoping it would improve- it didn't.

Narrator was okay, there were times when I felt his inflection was obviously wrong, but I overlook those things if I am enjoying the story.

Returned.
