Publisher's Summary

Isda does not exist. At least not beyond the opulent walls of the opera house.

Cast into a well at birth for being one of the magical few who can manipulate memories when people sing, she was saved by Cyril, the opera house’s owner. Since that day, he has given her sanctuary from the murderous world outside. All he asks in return is that she use her power to keep ticket sales high - and that she stay out of sight. For if anyone discovers she survived, Isda and Cyril would pay with their lives.

But Isda breaks Cyril’s cardinal rule when she meets Emeric Rodin, a charming boy who throws her quiet, solitary life out of balance. His voice is unlike any she’s ever heard, but the real shock comes when she finds in his memories hints of a way to finally break free of her gilded prison.

Haunted by this possibility, Isda spends more and more time with Emeric, searching for answers in his music and his past. But the price of freedom is steeper than Isda could ever know. For even as she struggles with her growing feelings for Emeric, she learns that in order to take charge of her own destiny, she must become the monster the world tried to drown in the first place.

Tragically Wonderful

Beautifully written !!! For fans of phantom of the opera with an amazing twist . Very refreshing story ending. Tragically doesn’t end like you want it to but still amazingly written

Young Elites x Strange the Dreamer

Beautifully drawn. Brilliantly paced. Achingly, tragically bittersweet.

It was bingeworthy for me even with some familiar devices at play.

Sooooo Good!!!

Absolutely loved this book! It’s surprising all around and not at all what you were expecting. It takes a bit to get into, but the descriptions of the setting really set the tone for where the author takes you as the story evolves. Super entertaining and totally worth the read!

mixed feelings...

this book does a good job of catching your attention pretty quickly. the story forms well and the characters are easy to get to know. the writing is somewhat predictable and a bit mechanical, but the climax was unexpected and epic. the ending.... I wouldn't judge a book for the way it chooses to end, but I'm definitely devastated. all in all, I would still call it a good story.

My opinion

Such a great book. The story line was amazing, characters were outstanding, it has love, hate, romance, adventure, betrayel. This book kept me on the edge of seat! At some points I was mentally screaming at the main character lol. It's beyond amazing..... except the last 15 minutes lol. Had me crying at work, mentally cursing the main character.... I was so pissed. You have to read this!

Didn’t love it- seemed contrived and dragged oooon. Very interesting premise that was an okay listen.
