Since You're Leaving Anyway, Take Out the Trash is a rollicking Texas mystery debut jam-packed with humor - and a heaping helping of romance to boot! Down in Salt Lick, Texas, a lot of folks got sass, but beauty salon proprietor Debbie Sue Overstreet has a bit more than most.

With a pen-name like Dixie Cash, you can rest assured this writing team of two lonestar ladies delivers the goods, spicy and juicy as fresh-picked hot peppers.

Critic reviews

"Authentic dialogue and a strong Texas flavor nicely complement the slapstick tone of Cash's rollicking debut romance featuring Debbie Sue Overstreet." ( Publishers Weekly)

I thought this was a very cute, light-hearted story with some laugh out loud dialog. If you are looking for something fun in the chick lit department, this book is perfect. The narrator didn't drive me nuts like she did others, but she did pause a lot. Don't let that sway your decision - it is still a great listen.

Great for some good laughs!

If you like horses, rodeos and small country towns this has it all. Steel Magnolias with huge helping of Hijinx with a murder mystery.

Humor is spot on

From the beginning I was captured by the author's use of "Texas" colloquialisms. I found myself laughing out loud with "glued zippers" and allergies. Add this to your list this is a fun and entertaining book!

The story is really cute, but the narrator drove me nuts with all the pauses. She stopped between each sentence like a robot reading the story.

I was hesitant to buy this book due to the negative comments about the narrator. I am so glad I did, I loved the story and the narrator. I know people who sound just like this narrator, I grew up in a small rural Texas town and this book nailed life in a small town. It is laugh out loud funny.

Loved it....

Laugh out loud funny, to bad the narrator wasn't better, felt more like she was reading instead of telling a story.

What a hoot!
