Publisher's Summary

After catching her husband in a compromising position, Finley Granger finds herself in a new hell: reentering the dating world. When she moves in with her grandmother, her great-aunt, and their best friend, Finley finds herself surrounded by a trio of well-meaning yet bumbling matchmakers.

In spite of their efforts, Finley only has eyes for one person, and that’s Zeke Masters - the 6’4”, impossibly built, and ridiculously good-looking new man in town. Along with her nether regions, Finley’s journalistic spidey-senses tingle as to why he’s on sabbatical from Seattle. Is he on the lam or escaping a bad breakup? What's his story?

As Finley finds herself reluctantly drawn to the gorgeous IT guy, she can’t help but wonder: Should she indulge in a rebound tryst with the mysterious Zeke, or has she finally met her match?

Shelf Awareness is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, and is book four in the Green Valley Library series, Green Valley world, Penny Reid Book universe.

The narration is absolutely PAINFUL

The story itself is huge but is cringe worthy due to the stilted mono tone and utterly lifeless performance of the author.

Worst narration ever

The story line was fine and the writing was good but the narration of this story was horrible!!!!!!

Performance was terrible

I never write reviews but I felt this deserved one based on how disappointing this was, especially as there were several books in this series that were very good. I wouldn’t have finished it, but I’m one of those who feels compelled to complete regardless.

Painful!

The storyline is ok but not the best for a smartypants romance book. The Author is beyond terrible narrating this book. And I thought it was Tuohy not Foohy? It's a hard no on this book!

Very good series but...

When audiobooks came out I resisted them for years, this due to robotic and / or boring sounding narrations.
To me, the inflection on a narrator's voice makes it or breaks it.
This book could have been a 5 star, good story, bad narration, 3.5 stars.

Performance fell flat

The story was cute, however it sounded like a dull flat reading instead of a performance. The authors voice was a bit grating.

Read the book w/o Audio

Cute story. Sounded like Siri read it though. I should have read the reviews. Enjoying the series though.

Different than the others

This book is much different from the other Green Valley books. Only one narrator, much raunchier- language and sex can be used to move a story but in this book was excessive, did not serve a purpose.
I did love Gramby and the others!

I wanted to like it

I was so wanting an awesome story… I struggled against my urge to stop the book so many times. Save your credit…. Narrator voice, inflection and overall performance was distracting but could have been ignored with a better story line.

Wow, that was so bad

I am a huge green valley universe gleam and while so far I haven’t been wowed by this series, this book was particularly awful! The story had potential to be cute but the author was really bad. The writing was so simple almost like this was her first time at writing something. And it was only made worse by her godawful monotone staccato narration. I listened to the whole thing out of a feeling of obligation to smartypants romance however I honestly couldn’t wait for it to be over.

Awful narration

I love this book series so much and then made the mistake of purchasing this audiobook. I am SO disappointed. The slow pace of the story was just made worse by the poor narration. I had to give up by chapter 8.
