Addictive! Fun! Great story.

I received an ARC of this audio book. I loved it! Imagine playing your favorite video game. Now imagine reading your favorite book. This book combines the two so realistically that you feel yourself excited when the characters level up, and anxious when their HP goes down. Such great character and world building, that even non gamers should enjoy, especially if you like sarcastic banter and realistic monsters, and a mystery. It's all here with great narration as well. Love a good listen so I can work on a jigsaw puzzle at the same time.

Worth the credit

It gets off to a slow start but is a really good lirpg novel. Buy it

MC makes a living testing the game. MC spends all his off time playing the game. MC get stuck in the game and well he has no clue. MC plays a caster as his main normally and so makes a caster again. Even though he plays a high level caster normally he just cant stop crying about everything and even freezes up and cant cast a spell to save his group on LOW level mobs. MC is an idiot and must have game rules explained to him over and over. Author tries way to hard to be funny and so most of the time is not. Very hard to make myself finish the book...... yup I did, and it never got better.

Good world building and pacing.

I would have enjoyed it more had the MC not been a complete idiot. At so many points I was left annoyed at his sheer obliviousness to make the choices I would expect of the experienced gamer he was written to be.

Mistakes I can understand. But... damn. Don't be stupid.

Other than that though, enjoyable.

LitRPG

Shards of Reality by Timothy W. Long is a great video game LitRPG fantasy. Todd Menesses did a great job with the narration. The story is entertaining, enjoyable, fun, and more. Shards of Reality is the first book in Enter the Realm series. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.highly recommended
