Shadowborne, the highly anticipated sequel duet to Flameborne, is a mythical world romantasy series perfect for fans of Rebecca Yarros's Fourth Wing series and Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Dive into an immersive world of dragons, secret societies, and a broken woman fighting for triumph over her kingdom's enemies...and her past.

Secrets can save a kingdom—or destroy everything.

Bren is the first female to attain the coveted rank of Furyknight—the legendary society of men chosen and bonded by dragons, and trained for war. Desperate to hide that her Commanding Officer is also her mate, Bren throws herself into her new duties, only to discover that the Furyknights also hide secrets under their wings.

Donavyn introduces Bren to the Shadowfang. Unknown even to other Furyknights, the covert society’s training in stealth and espionage are Bren's refining fire. But, as her skill grows, so does Donavyn’s fear. To him, Bren is precious. To the King she’s becoming a dangerously expendable weapon.

Donavyn ensures she's trained mercilessly, while secretly craving vengeance on the men who hurt her before she was his, and hiding that darkness even from his dragon. But secrets need sunlight to heal.

As Bren fights to prove her worth as a spy, her past emerges to ignite a white-hot fire.

Those flames threaten to burn Donavyn—and every honorable intention he ever held—to ash.

Soar into a daring new saga from Aimee Lynn, the author of the Flameborne duet, where secrets lurk in every shadow, and a young woman must risk everything, to rise and claim her place and her love, against a kingdom that only ever expected her to fall.

Good story and would have wanted more of Benji and more king drama! But loved reading it

Love the performers!

I am a huge fan of Troy. The female narrator sounded so young I was kind of uncomfortable with it. but that's just me I think. I always have a hard time with the really young sounding girls banging one out. sometimes she sounded REALLY young depending on how she pitched her voice. I know the FMC is supposed to be "young". I like her voice don't get me wrong. I think maybe it's a combo of being frustrated with the FMC and the too young voice combo. I feel like this book just kinda chugged along. I still need some action and not just the spice. I rather have more....something. I kinda feel like I could have skipped this one and just listened to the next. because I still want to know what happens to the idiot.

I like Troy

Loved how the characters follow honor and always try to do right. Conflicts but they work through it instead of letting others come between them.

Hooked from the beginning!

This book was really good. I have to say i love Bren but was annoying to me at some parts of this series. She did a lot of growth in this book which is great. I love how much Donavan and Bren love each other but have a lot to overcome with themselves. The spice is great! The connections between Bren and Donavan and their dragons is fantastic. The end of this book. i was wondering if this would happen. I cannot wait to continue. Troy is seriously the best narrator. I will listen to anything he narrates.

characters growth

I will share I did not finish the third book, could not make it any further.
The premise seemed it might have potential, but it never grew. I kept hoping, but no.
I liked the male lead voice, but found the female actually disturbing and without depth. The voice sounded like a 14 year old. Couple that with the much older love interest and the many references in his internal dialogue of protect her like a child or seeing her as a helpless child really made it that much more disturbing. Additionally when the female lead would alter to include dialogue from secondary male characters they ended up sounding like the seven dwarfs, or a child version of a male adult, really not good.
I also had a problem with over-emphasis of how helpless she continued to be, no real growth in important areas maturity of thought, problem solving. And pretty obsessive repeated references of how a woman could never succeed in hand to hand fighting-solution-the male will be there to protect always.
One final point (although there are more problems with depth and intelligence of dialogue), the writer setting up this human to human feral bond. Very disturbing that any moment she should step back to question or react strongly, pulling away from or question him or relationship or trustworthiness could NOT occur as it would sever the bond and kill him???wtf?
Perhaps I missed the warning label where this was a total male dominance or other type story, but I never saw anything in the description. Where is the story, what was purpose for writing?
For so many many reasons I rate this book a very low score.

Poor writing, very weak story, terrible casting for young woman
