After her sister is murdered, a woman infiltrates a support group for serial killers in this biting queer feminist debut thriller, perfect for fans of The Final Girl Support Group and My Sister, the Serial Killer.

When Cyra Griffin’s younger sister is murdered by a serial killer, Cyra knows better than to expect justice from the hands of the police department. With the investigation already dying its own slow death, Cyra follows the blood trail and finds her own way forward.

Using insider information (don’t ask), Cyra infiltrates a support group for serial killers by pretending to be one herself in the hopes of finding the person who ended her sister’s life. Proving herself to them comes at a cost, but it’s one Cyra is willing to pay in the name of revenge.

But the dangerous men in the group aren’t the only obstacle in Cyra’s path for vengeance, and the further Cyra descends into the deadly world of serial killers, the harder it becomes to hold on to her own humanity.

This dark, witty debut novel is a cunning homage to women’s wrongs that will have you wondering exactly how many monsters walk unseen among us.

(*Not for the whole family, please don't do that to your loved ones.)

I liked this title a lot. It reminded me very much of My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite. I enjoyed the main narrator, not so much the additional narrator for the serial killer interstitials.

Maxium creepiness for the whole family*

You know, in this day and age, I wouldn't be surprised if a group like the one in this book was real. I certainly hope not, though.

Anyhoo, the book's title dug its nails into my intrigue, and I'm glad to have given in. The serial killer support group in this book read like a real support group. You could easily imagine being a fly on the wall as each session took place, and there were back stories for some of the group's serial killers as well.

Cyra, on a mission to avenge her murdered sister, goes into the belly of the beast as she infiltrates a serial killer support group to see which one, if any, of the serial killers murdered her sister, Myra. She's nothing like the men in this group, at least, that's what she tells herself. Cyra must be careful, though, because if she's found out, avenging her sister will be the least of her worries.

Original and really good!

The idea of a serial support group sounded funny, so I couldn't resist trying this book. As expected, I was amused as our lead character was infiltrating the group. I did like going back and forth between present day and the pasts of the serial killers. I liked that there was a male narrator for those chapters, but I would have used him for all male parts throughout all chapters for consistency. Granted, there wasn't much variety in his voice from one character to another. The solution to the mystery was uninteresting to me, but I enjoyed the story overall.

Fun Read

Loved the different story line! Female bada$$ as well! Great lead narrator. The male narrator was a bit overboard on characters. It would have been easier to follow those parts to have a different male voice for each male character. Other than that, I loved this book. Didn’t see the twists coming at all!! Definitely worth the credit!

Great story, loved the twists!

This was so well written and performed!!!! The whole read I was flabbered, then gasted, then flabbergasted. I would not be upset if someone was able to continue the mission in a sequel 👀
10 out of 10!!!!!

I’m OBSESSED!!!!

And now for something completely different. Something good. Something well written. Something properly edited that lacks all the filler you get from big name authors in this genre. Finally a break from formulaic drivel.

As a person that prefers NF, this book managed to get me to suspend disbelief. I can relate. I can admire the uniqueness of the story. Most of all, I appreciate that the author avoids repeating herself as if I have a double digit IQ.

This book is intricate and subtle with no silly red herrings. It tells a story the way a story unfolds—believable. And yet, it still manages to surprise you.

Thoroughly enjoyed!
