Publisher's summary

Book 6 in the award-winning and best selling Sentinels of Creation saga sets the stage for next year's series finale.

Only a few short months have passed since Meghan and Shannon successfully retrieved Kellan from a brutal life in Claudius’ Rome. The Soulborn struggles with how Order, Chaos, and Creation have all left their mark on Kellan during his time as a gladiator.

Neither Kellan nor Shannon is given much time to ponder these changes. Upon their return from Rome, Sentinel and Soulborn are caught up in the first act of the culminating struggle between Creation and Destruction. Merlin once again calls on the Sentinel of Order to keep open the narrow path that protects our world from Perditor.

To do this, Kellan and Margaret Karnstein are called to fulfill an angelic prophecy. They must breathe life to stone for the heart of Chaos to become ripe for redemption. While Kellan is far from sure how to complete the prophecy, he knows all roads lead through Aibreann O'Dochartaigh, Lucifer's only mortal love.

For her part, Shannon leads both Kellan and her most trusted friends into grave peril as she fulfills a promise made despite opposition by vast powers and principalities. The Soulborn remains undaunted as she confronts both demons of the first fall and a Fae prince of Twilight. As Fate would have it, her actions serve a far greater purpose than even Shannon knows, for if our world is to survive, the Soulborn must find A Scion of Amber Light.

Lucifer

I finished book 6 last week. I've waited a few days to review the book. Not because I didn't like it but because I was trying to think of something super smart to say. I have to say I've got nothing. It is a MOST read/ listen.

I love Lucifer's sense of humor. He is such an asshole. Lol.

I totally want to be Derek's friend. Lol

Oh, I forgot to mention that I could imagine myself in that world. Experiencing every single moment. I was on the edge of my seat.

I cant wait for the next book.

Great rounding out of the story

Finished this audio book in just a few days, and am super excited to start book seven. It leaves you satisfied but still wanting more. It is definitely NOT boring! I do hate boring.

A Masterpiece!!

This book is now my favorite in the series! Kellan comes back from Ancient Rome and must control the chaos and order within himself. .. The whole redemption of the devil storyline has really intrigued me. Also the deep love that Kellan and Shannon have for each other... Have some tissue close at hand. 😢 I can see how all the characters we love are coming together for the last book. I am so excited for Book 7.

Another great chapter in the saga.

Not much I can really say at this point. If you've made it this far, you'll want to read this book because it grows upon all the excellent work and wonderful world that has come from the previous five books.

The author's note was particularly enlightening as well.

One teensy weensy nitpick, at some point Kellen won't be able to use his power, it's like the author forgot, or expected us to forget he still learned universal power.

But I figure that would've made the spot out would be relevant even more hectic. Still, a nit one has to pick

Seriously though, I can't wait to read the next book and get the conclusion.

The fantastic story continues!

As far as I'm concerned, everything that Robert W. Ross writes, is gold. I've thoroughly enjoyed the entire series and this book does not fail to live up to the rest. All the references are great. World building is top notch. Keep up the great work!

(Italian finger kiss motion) perfecto!

I'm reminded with each new book why this series and author Robert W Ross are my favorite of all time! it is not an exaggeration when I say that I will give ANYTHING written by him a chance. to be able to write in such a way you are truly brought in and feel apart of the story is a rare ability that he has in spades!

First six books review

I hate stories that involve time travel. The Sentinels of Creation series is the one of the few exceptions to that rule, and is one of my top three favorite audiobook series. To keep this review spoiler free, I'll just say that I'm often caught smiling, laughing, and sometimes cheering for the characters out loud with my headphones on. The stories and characters pull me in.

Nick Podehl's narration is a perfect companion to the writing. To paraphrase something I wrote once about Nick's performance in this series, "Nick Podehl is THE best narrator I've ever heard. Robert Ross gave him a ton of characters to voice, and I have never had a problem tracking who is talking. Even when he is doing two different British voices, I can tell them apart. When I hear Lucifer, I hear Bowie. When I hear Jarvis, I hear Paul Bettany. All of the characters are easy for me to identify without being told who it is. I'm glad that Robert Ross was able to connect with Nick. I don't think many narrators exist that are able to perform as well as he has."

Part of me selfishly hopes this never makes it to a movie or television adaptation, because I'm afraid the stories would be ruined.

new high water mark for the series

No spoilers - but significant events in this book ratchet up the story line. The whole "redemption" of the devil storyline is also great, and I like it that we got to see more of Poulo (sp? - I am on the audiobooks...)

the narrator is of course terrific.

I also really enjoy the author's note portion of the books - though it perhaps should be read by the actual author...?...or is that just me?

Can't recommend this series strongly enough - great characters, storylines, low humor, snark, action, god and monsters, etc. - something for everyone.
