Not that enlightening.

While it was a decent listen, it’s more fluff than substance.

Want to be successful? Just go do it. Want to lose weight? Just go do it. Depressed? Stop being depressed. That’s the gist of the advice.

A lot of high hopes , but disappointed

So I gave it 3 stars because over all I still have learned a couple lessons through the book. But the reason it shall not receive 5 from me is that i feel he’s very repetitive on his teachings and a certain part of the book he starts talking about working out ( which I already do) I just didn’t see the point on why he went on so long about it. And then he went on about martial arts ( which I liked ) but I got into this book to learn about discipline not how to fight and every form of martial art. Would i recommend? Yes over all still solid messages across the whole thing and I will practice some of the routines he mentioned. Short book, enjoy :)

Book about “alpha males” 😆

Worst book I have come across in a long while. Discusses habits of the “alpha male” (clearly written by a beta male). Only time women are mentioned is to say that yoga is good for women to “discover their sexual capabilities” — really??? Talks about yoga so it becomes abundantly clear this dude has no clue about yoga. Etc. Uff.

Toxic masculinity

This book was written for men only. The number of times you’re told to ‘be a man’, ‘you are a warrior’, ‘you are a King’ just grates on your nerves. I’m obviously not the target audience (as a woman) and at times I actually broke out in laughter at the ridiculousness of his suggestions. In general, it promotes outdated ideals of what it means to be a man, or a ‘disciplined man’, i.e. a strong, emotion-less, powerful, a ‘real’ man... ugh. Not a lot of depth.

And whatever you do, DO NOT follow his advice to go and watch a yoga class before you attend. My gosh, DO NOT be that creepy guy in the back of the class watching people get sweaty and bend over. Seriously. Just go to the class, if you don’t like it, leave.

Great blueprint

A very clear and consice way to approach discipline. Even as a veteran I can grasp the value in this book. The solid tactics as well as the examples mention how much habit and mindset play into the development of success. Taking on strengthening regiments, running and even how the resistance will come from in the mind.

I really like how great examples were given regarding friends and family if they try to talk you out of your strict frame to reach the goals you set in life. It also mentions having a obsession in some cases in order to achieve the goals you set forward in life and that its ok to have high run standards so that you may actualize your greatest potential.

Lastly, the whole part about writing down goals daily to prime them for the subconscious so that you may take action on them daily, leading to weekly, monthly etc. If you can see your goals and have a vision you can plot the steps to take next to make any aspect of life a reality.

A little fluff, but overall solid advice

The book contains solid advice, with pockets of irrelevant or redundant information. There are a few grammatical/syntax errors from the reader, but it really doesn't detract from the message. Am I glad I made the purchase? Yes.

Recommended it

Although I read reviews I have not ever written a review of a book. This one, however, deserves all the praise a book can get. I found it insightful, thought- provoking and life changing.

Very limited point of view

For starters, it would be nice to know that the book is directed exclusively to men. I wouldn't waste money on listening about alpha male traits or how too high level of estrogen in man's body can be hurtful.
The spiritual talk also wasn't much helpful, I learnt more listening to podcast than to this book that was supposed be written by someone who had experience in meditation and learning about himself and his mind. For me, stereotypical and limited point of view of the author. Not worth the time or money.
