You know that your mind influences your health-but what's influencing your mind? Unless you answer this question, teaches Dr. Mario Martinez, you may be missing a key component on the journey to health and personal excellence.
In The Mind-Body Code, the founder of Biocognitive Theory presents his first audio curriculum about the dynamic interplay between our thoughts, our bodies and our cultural history-and how to unlock this powerful doorway to wellness and fulfillment.
Mario Martinez has and amazing voice and also the most complete description of forgiveness I've ever heard.
He explains how to integrate forgiveness into ones life with usable stories and real tools.
I've never quite heard the concept of true forgiveness explained this way anywhere else.
I highly recommend listening to all 6 CD's "in order". I found that they really helped me to explain to myself and other what "forgiveness is not" and with my christian background it added a whole new dimension to my understanding.
Basically he uses the first 5 audio series to build up to the last CD on the actual topic of forgiveness.
Very well laid out.
Thank you Dr Mario Martinez.

This book is fantastic. A theory of psychology and mind-body connection supported by scientific research. I have done the exercises many times and it's amazing what I have discovered about myself. I am sure this book will bring health to many.

I use parts of this cd to help with fibro pain and ptsd. He has one of the best explanations of fibro and a good meditation to start breaking up the knot of emotions that keep us in pain. His segment on Stigmata and Fibro is very helpful and the meditation goes right to the heart of problems. I wish there were separate tracks for the actual meditations, however, as I can never find them when I am looking. I suppose bookmarking helps.I would like to have easier ways to find the experiential stuff, as I dont need to keep hearing the explanations.Sometimes his voice grates on me and i dont agree with all he says, but its well worth a try at the meditations if you are dealing with chronic pain.

Thanks to Mario Martinez, the author! This book is a FRESH LOOK at realizing the whole self, and is not to be missed if you value your health. Narrated by the author in a very gentle, understanding, and healing way. My wife and I both rate this tops!

Loved it and will continue to love it!
The meditations are wonderfully simple and would be great for lay people that are not used to meditating....I only wish that Mario conducted an oline course for people interested in studying his unique teachings....all of this CD resonated with me and I will keep an eye out for any other recordings he may put out there :)

This book is not for those already well-versed in Mind/Body Medicine. In fact, it is probably not the best resource for professionals OR lay people beginning their journey into understanding and practicing it's theory. Mostly, Mr. Martinez's ideas are a restatement of Bioenergetics from the early 1970's. His explanations of "portals" of emotions is an oversimplification of Chakra theory which is better described by a myriad of teachers and authors in other resources. Much of his explanation of the interaction between mind and body is vague and difficult to follow.
I did appreciate his casual style and I like that he narrates his own book. However, my preference for books available on Audible for Mind/Body medicine and practices would be Radical Acceptance and Meditation and Psychotherapy by Tara Brach; Mindfulness by Ellen Langer; The Mindful Brain by Daniel Siegal; and Stress-Proofing Your Brain by Rick Hansen.
I am quite sure that Dr. Martinez's clients benefit from his understanding and "hands-on" guidance. However, for the "reader," the entree into this rich and abundant field might best be found elsewhere.

Dr Martinez narrates his own work and just listening to his soothing, compassionate voice is a pleasure in itself. The ideas he is narrating work on a level I have never come across before and are remarkably effective.
At last, a scientific understanding of the mind-body connection that is not New Age in any way. Martinez's techniques are infinitely more effective than any visualization exercise I had tried in the past and I finally have closure on issues I had been working on for years. Hooray!
Thanks for this body of work Dr Martinez. I hope many others will find relief in their lives as the result of this audio book.

Mario Martinez delivers his material on bio-cognitive theory which upon reflection may give the listener a chance to unravel some of the blocks negatively impacting their lives. His voice is most pleasant and his style mixes science with anecdotes, history and mythology. Very entertaining and more importantly most helpful in learning to live with more ease and joy. Practical applications are given in each section. I have listened through many, many times and always come away with something I did not hear the time before...rich and satisfying. More please......

Positive, informed/informing, experiential, yes experiential, healing! Dr Martinez has joined the dots and I have gained useful strategies and insights to dealing with or rather managing some of my biocognitive issues. I hope you add this to your library and that you listen with at least one other person.

Absolutely love it, found it healing and inspiring.
Will be happy to listen it again.
I absolutely loved this book and have been listening to the sessions over and over on a regular basis. Every time I learn something new and get deeper into the practice. The book is filled with truly valuable data based on cutting edge research. It is really easy to follow and put into practice. The practice sessions at the end of each chapter are really helpful. In fact this book is so impactful because it teaches us readers to put the theory into practice. I am so grateful I came across this gem of a book! A real life changer. Can't wait to read the next one.
I am so grateful to this Doctor for sharing his knowledge. Thank you so much
Looks like I'm the lone dissenter here, but I didn't enjoy this one at all. In fact I couldn't finish it.
I think a lot of this was due to a style preference issue. I tend to prefer material which is pretty straight to the point, whereas I found the style of this to be too drawn out for me.
This is a wonderful program. I have done all the exercises at the end of each session & have found them transformative.
Dr. Martinez is very easy to listen to. The information is presented concisely and with great humour and warmth.
It is the first review I have ever done, but felt compelled to, this is transformative.
I was introduced to this book via Dr Christian Northrup's online course - Ageless Goddess series and was so grateful as although I have been aware of the need to 'listen' to my body for a long time I haven't really been able to access those emotions in a methodical or reliable way. I listened to this book several times over the past six weeks and each time I've picked up something new. My meditation experiences are grounded now in experiencing what my body is telling me and feeling into the corners without getting caught up in a story or an emotion. As a side note - I love Mario Mattinez's voice - this is a man who has a lot of compassion and experience - I feel like my grandfather is giving me some well honed wisdom. I can't recommend this book enough.

After 30 years and lots of money spent on self help books finally a book that makes sense why I have been experiencing self esteem issues . Yet to try the fixes but definitely recommend it . The audio book really works
Definitely recommend this book, especially to anyone who is dealing with blocks in yourself. eye opening.
I could not get through this book. The concepts are interesting but I found it too much of a slog, accentuated by the readers accent. Not one of my favourites.
