Good story. Voices were meh.

I loved the story. The male leads voice was disappointing. I'd rather have read this one instead of doing audio book. But good story.

Limited narration range

I read the first book and loved it. I decided to listen to the second book narrated. The narrator did the best she could with her range. However, when the author claims a voice is deep and guttural… it’s hard to listen when the narrator uses a quirky North American accent. Kax’s voice and character was hard to stomach when it was supposed to be sensual. All I could think of was that that voice would be a great background character voice. Luckily, the other series that tie in to this have a duel narration that allows for more range. With that said, I still love the world that Tana Stone has created.

Going after what you want!

I asked to receive this free review Audible book and wrote this unbiased review. This is such an awesome series and this book has two strong lead characters. Kax is an honorable, strong alien that is willing to rescue Bridget no matter what the consequences. Bridget is a tough as nails woman who isn't afraid to protect herself and go after what she wants. This story includes alien battle scenes, a hidden secret, a loveable AI computer, angst, good friends, the comedic wedding planners, and explosive love scenes. The narrator brings out the emotions and personalities of these characters. She gives them distinctive voices and is a pleasure to listen to. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Good sci-fi alien romance

This is a good sci-fi alien romance. It wasn't super impactful, but it wasn't meant to be. It's well-written with a good plot and interesting characters. I found Bridget's tone to be way too flirty for the first part of the book. I know this was her character, but I just felt it was inappropriate. I'm sure that's perfect for other listeners. After a while, either I got used to it or it got better, though. Other than that, I thought it was a great book. It was perfect for listening while cleaning because I could follow along without my full attention on it every minute.
