Publisher's summary

An Amazon Charts best seller.

A former Legionnaire had been working as an investigative journalist in Paris. He meets a mysterious American, of Jewish and Latino descent, by chance when the latter sails into a quiet fishing village nestled in a remote Andalusian bay in Spain. The yachtsman, also a former French Foreign Legionnaire, explained that he had been working in private security, and he tells a story that dates back to the dark days of Nazi Germany and it at first seems to be fictitious. However, the journalist began to question what he had been told.

The mystery of the violent deaths of an elderly Swiss gentleman and his two gamekeepers in a lonely house in the English Shires serves as the catalyst unravelling an international political and terrorist conspiracy. The various strands of the frightening story begin to come together. What follows is a life-and-death hunt for a secret that had its birth amid the destruction of Berlin in 1945.

There are those within the spy and security services of the Middle East, Europe, and the United States who struggle to come to terms with the enormity of their theories. Others within the corridors of political power wish to prevent that secret from seeing the light of day. They will stop at nothing to reach that aim. Who are the traitors?

The suspense novel was described as reminiscent of The Odessa File and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. A former US Navy man described the See Glass thriller as having a style which "...is very Tom Clancy". Exciting storyline with real-world events as a backdrop. Another Clancy trademark you have is utilizing real-world existing/former agencies and military units." This book begs the question - "Is it fiction?"

Critic reviews

"If ever a novel was ready to be made into a feature film it is this one...it has all the ingredients for the big screen.... You know the kind of film I mean? The ones that usually star Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson...." (Jeremy Ransome, Editor, Spalding Guardian)

Pretty good, but what happened to the little girl?

Some of the names were hard to keep straight. Also, they had a little girl with them, but she was never mentioned again.

Political Intrigue and Espionage Plus!

This is a book of espionage, political conspiracy, war, and death. Two former Legionnaires meet at a tourist spot located off the Andalusian Bay. One a journalist and the other a sailor with special forces experience and training. Starting with WWII during Hitler’s reign and ending now, finding the hidden secret is vital as it will destroy political powers and lives. The journalist must decide whether the story is real or fake and whether to tell the story or not. Checking facts, he is determined to write the story that must be told. He cannot trust anyone as deceit flows throughout the chain of command everywhere.

The author, Ido Graf captures the attention of the listener and holds it from the first moment to the last. A rich thriller touching on political conspiracies, Espionage, Government, and more. The beginning occurs during WWII and Hitler’s reign and stretches over the course of decades. Each character is well-developed and suited to the story nicely. While Graf’s writing style is reminiscent of John Grisham and other well-known thriller writers, Graf’s storytelling is slightly different. The story moves slowly and deliberately building for plot twists and the final culminating moment.

The narrator, Jarret Lemaster gives a fine performance. His voices are rich and distinct allowing the listener to follow easily. He does not rush, and his cadence is perfectly matched to the story. His voices matched each character well.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook. The sound was clear and well done.

Prepare to lose some sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I would try and tackle my insomnia by listening to this in bed. I ended up getting hooked and after a couple of late nights staying awake for just one more chapter finished this thriller!!! Would love to see it in a film. Not to discount the audiobook but in film I think it would be even better.

Great action thriller

See Glass is a new intense International Action Thriller written beautifully and with care by author Ido Graf.

With a captivating story that goes back to the dark days of Nazi Germany, See Glass opens with the chance meeting of two former French foreign legionnaires on a quiet beach of a fishing village in a secluded Andalusian bay in the far south of Spain.

One of them works as an investigative journalist and the other says that he handles private security. As the two brothers in arms start talking, one of them shares a story that at first seems to be pure fiction. But, when the journalist starts to investigate, he discovers that his former colleague has been involved in events that could have toppled the largest countries in the world. What follows is a crazy ride filled with conspiracies, secret agents, hired assassins, and dark secrets.

Expertly written, filled with intense action, high stakes events, ruthless individuals, violence, and with a scary scenario featuring the rebirth of the neo-Nazis movement, this novel will delight and entertain readers and listeners alike.

The audiobook version of See Glass is recorded by talented narrator Jarret LeMaster. He does a great job in bringing each character to life. He reads, he acts, he exquisitely performs each scene and switches with ease between different voices and accents.

I have listened to more than 1,300 audiobooks and his performance of the first chapter, where he narrates everything in a completely natural French accent, will stay with me for a long time. He also handles very well words in other languages. I’m really glad to have discovered Jarret LeMaster and I hope to listen soon to more audiobooks narrated by him.

The audio production is excellent, but the only, let’s say, negative thing that I noticed is that from time to time there are some edits that could pull the listener just a little out of this completely Immersive narrative experience.

Reminiscent of the classic Robert Ludlum novels and Tom Clancy’s John Clark action thrillers, See Glass is something that should not be missed by those who enjoy this genre! Also, I think that See Glass would make for a blockbuster action movie! My rating is five stars and I am eagerly awaiting a new book from Ido Graf.
