Publisher's Summary

She swore off love forever...but he just might change her mind.

The sixth sweet, thrilling book in the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal best-selling Weekday Brides series from Catherine Bybee.

Meg Rosenthal: Matchmaker by day, realist by night, Meg is not about to get swept away by a charming, darkly handsome businessman in a designer suit. She's come to a beautiful, secluded resort to evaluate the private island's potential for her agency, not to ogle its owner. But there's something about the magnetic man that's hard to resist, even for a woman who refuses to fall in love.

Valentino Masini: A successful and drop-dead sexy businessman, Valentino is used to having the finer things in life. Yet he's never wanted someone the way he wants Meg, who's stirring up a hurricane of trouble in his heart. But just as he decides to convince her to stay, someone else decides it might be time to get Meg off the island...permanently.

A Gritty, roamnce -- A Great Plt

Book 6 in the series is set in the Florida Keys. It is a continuation of from previous books. Meg meets Valentino, the owner and proprietor of an ultra secret, ultra-primate resort. When the ultra-private nature of the resort is threatened and that of Michael personal life (Movie Star) is jeopardized, the good guys embark on a good old who-did-it. Except, this who-did-it has a flavor of a thriller that gives the overall novel more depth and texture -- well done. This is a romance novel, heavy on the romance (very light on the sex scenes). Although parts are predictable, the narrative moves along and the plot points are riveting. Tanya Eby continues to turn in great performances.

In this book we meet Valentino's sister Gabby. My money is on book seven being about her. I hope so, because we learn a great deal about her in this novel and it will be interesting to see how she evolves. Bybee has done a great job keeping the series fresh and interesting. I give it a big thumbs up and look forward to book seven. Give it a read.

Great series! Fantastic narrator!

Great contemporary romance series! Ever since I stumbled upon "Not Quite Dating" I have devoured every single book by Catherine Bybee and haven't been disappointed yet. When I started the series, I was wondering whether the arranging-fake-marriages set up would be too silly and predictable, but Catherine Bybee has such a talent creating interesting story lines and wonderful characters, you just get pulled in.
I like how the previous characters always reappear and you end up with that one big happy family feeling. It's just really entertaining escapism on a dull day. Good mixture of mystery/suspense and love story.
Tanya Eby does such a great job narrating all the audio versions. I am in awe of her ability to master the male voices. Every time I start listening to one of these, I can't stop until I've finished it.

Series enjoyable

I have enjoyed this series that mixes intrigue with romance. This Book 6, though entertaining, was not as good as the previous 5. I like the continuity of the characters’ evolution. I did think the narration was not as good. The main characters from the island’s Italian accents almost struck me as cheesy. I didn’t warm to Val as a good match. The plot didn’t seem as plausible as previous ones in series. However, I will still listen to Book 7 wrapping up the series.

Still Continuing the Trend of Good Enough

If you've read any of my other reviews for this series, you'll know that all the books except the first get average 3-star ratings from me. They're great if you're looking for an easy romance sprinkled with some other stuff, but nothing is outright spectacular.

The characters and story are all somewhat interesting in this book, but nothing is done so well where you can't wait to find out what happens next with both the romance or plot. I also think that it's pretty convenient that the main characters from previous books are always available with their wealth, influence, or military expertise for every situation that needs it.

Tanya Eby delivers what she needs to as a narrator, but she hasn't stood out with her performances in this series.

I recommend this to fans of the author and series.

Island Getaway

What was thought to be a private island, a place where people can go to stay out of the spotlight. Now everyone is at risk. This was action packed and many secrets come out. I really loved this book out of the series, big suspense, real evil, love and healing in the end. The story comes alive in your Imagination with the narrator.
