Publisher's Summary

Her mother lied about her identity and her husband wasn't who she thought he was. Can Bailey even trust herself anymore?

Running for her life in the wake of her mother’s murder, Bailey Fleming escapes to the only place she can think of - a remote, dilapidated cabin in Lavender Tides. Intending to finally get to the truth behind the lies of her past, Bailey only finds more questions when bodies are discovered near her cabin hideout along with traces of a dangerous human trafficking ring. In an unlikely partnership with FBI agent Lance Phoenix, Bailey races to understand the mystery surrounding her life and circumstances before the murderer tracks her down.

Meanwhile, Lance is determined to rescue his sister, Ava, who was abducted after running away from home as a teenager. An unexpected lead brings him to the remote cabin, and he wonders if Bailey - with her suspicious past and strange connections to his sister’s case - is really who she claims to be and if she can somehow lead him to Ava.

Entertaining read

This was the second of the Lavender Tides books I’ve read (I accidentally started with #2), and both have been great reads. I liked the characters who were real, and the plot was never dull- full of mystery and suspense with a hint of romance. This series was my first experience with Colleen Coble, and I was not disappointed.

This story is even better than I could have hoped!

I really enjoyed this story. Colleen is a master of suspense and her twists and turns actually make the story even more believable! I loved the mix of Michigan and Washington .

A Great Read of adventure, Love and Discovery

What a Great Book! A riveting adventure with suspense, love, longing and learning of some real life problems. I’ve been waiting to read how the strong characters in this series come to end up. It’s more then worth the time to read and listen. I’ll redo this series in a year or two. It’s so worth the read and a few rereads.

Needs male proofreaders! Lol!

My wife and I listen to your books in the truck and for the most part I love them! But sometimes it drives me crazy when you completely miss the way a man thinks! Professional law enforcement men that are constantly unwary and get snuck up on from behind borders on incompetence! They should be removed from field work and put behind a desk! Lol! And when one guy makes a move on the bad guy and the other guy seems to just be standing off to the side sucking his thumb or something isn't realistic! I get that you're probably a very sweet woman... but guys break faces in those kinds of situations! And, unless I'm the only guy on the planet that listens to these kinds of books with his wife... you need to make your male characters think like actual men!
I'm actually a very sensitive guy and cry regularly during your stories (way more than my wife does) but when faced with the prospect of fiercly protecting the love of my life - I would just as fiercely rip his Adams Apple out and toss it in the gutter without an ounce of remorse! Lol! And, while I realize you could probably never wrap your mind around that... every man that took the time to read this is probably saying "Amen brother!"

Wonderful ending to one of my favorite series

I love Colleen Coble, and I've read most of what she's written. But I have to tell you, besides the Rock Harbor series (the first books of hers that I ever read), I think that this series, the Lavender Tides series, is the next best series she's ever written. She continues the story from the first book to the last using the same characters and adding new ones with every book. This allowed me to get to know the characters better and fall in love with them even more than just getting to know them in just one book. It's a fabulous series for anyone who loves romantic suspense.

THIS IS NOT ONE OF HER BEST BOOKS. FRUSTRATING !!

Colleen Coble is one of my favorite authors. The narrator , Devon O'day is awesome also. However, this book did not deliver at all. Although the book sheds light on the inhuman practice of human trafficking, trying to finish this book was a struggle. There are to many characters . And I've noticed a pattern regarding female characters in a lot of romance /suspense novels . So many authors are creating female characters who rush into dangerous situations a man would not rush into. Hate to spoil the book for some of you, but why would a woman with no weapons think she can rescue FBI agents w/ weapons from danger?? She is weak and helpless in one chapter and rushing in to save the world in the next. The suspense is built around the main character assuming she can save everyone . Her nonsense decisions are suppose to keep you in suspense. It's not reality.
And it's getting old.

Good book for its type

Plot moves along rapidly. Characters are believable. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that I have read this exact story before, some years ago.
