In this stunning thriller by a New York Times bestselling author, the Green Berets, the C.I.A., and the White House face off against a top army lawyer in an investigation that could put the U.S. military on trial—perfect for readers of Word of Honor and A Few Good Men.

A battalion of Serbs has been senselessly murdered in Kosovo and the Green Berets stand accused. Now, Major Sean Drummond is assigned to investigate this unspeakable atrocity. But of course, no one saw anything, and Drummond gets consistently suspicious depositions from all of the Green Berets.

Teamed with a straight-laced prosecutor and a sexy defense attorney, Drummond probes further but forces continue to hide the truth.

When a reporter is found dead, Drummond suspects there's a traitor on his team, and everyone from the CIA to the president may be involved in a cover-up that could threaten the stability of the most powerful nation in the world.©2001 by Brian Haig; All Rights Reserved; (P)2001 by Time Warner AudioBooks

I love Brian Haig's writing, witty and fun characters, well developed and immensely likeable. This reader doesn't always do it for me, as he lacks the witty and comedic personality I imagine when reading Haig's hard-cover, but this audio is still a good time.

Witty and entertaining

There is no better combination of Brian Haig as author and John Rubinstein as reader. The story flies!

A great story told very well

A FUN ENJOYABLE BOOK

I share something in common with the author of this book, apparently, in that I know absolutely nothing about the US Army. As a result, mistakes of detail didn't trouble me. The story was much more complex and interesting than I had anticipated, and the reader was brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Splendid effort all round

Drummond is a wonderful character, especially as read by Mr. Rubinstein. What a perfect reader for this book! Wry and sarcastic and perfect for the first-person POV. Can't wait until I get another credit so i can listen to the next one!
(And I don't care that Specialist 7 doesn't exist anymore.)

Loved it!

When I first saw this, being an US Army veteran of 10 years, I felt it would be interesting. But after hearing someone be refered to as the rank of Specialist 7, I quickly knew there was going to be problems. This story is supposed to take place in the 1990's, well the US Army eliminated the rank of Specialist 5 and above in 1985. So that and other things (like a CWO staying in the same Special Forces A team for 17 years!) just soured this whole audio book for me, and I doubt I would ever listen to anything by this author again. He didn't do enough research for his book.

Author has no clue about the US Army
