Publisher's Summary

NAACP nominee and USA Today best-selling author Beverly Jenkins continues her beloved Blessings series with a new heartwarming novel set in Henry Adams, Kansas.

Malachi “Mal” July has run into trouble in the past. With a reputation as a player, he’s now a recovering alcoholic and has made progress in redeeming himself in the eyes of his family and the citizens of Henry Adams, Kansas. He’s not only turned his diner into a profitable business, but also mentors the town’s foster kids. And he’s even staying true to one woman - Bernadine Brown.

But all it takes is a moment of pride to blind Mal to his blessings - a moment that makes him betray his friends and family, and lose Bernadine’s trust and love. Will he ever be able to win her forgiveness?

Meanwhile homecoming weekend is fast approaching, and store owner Gary Clark is reunited with his high school sweetheart. All it takes is a few minutes for them to realize the spark is still there, but is it too late for second chances?

A little help from the good people of Henry Adams may give both Mal and Gary the best second chance at the happiness they missed the first time around…

Story was good but the narrator was the worst !!

The performance rating is zero stars...Hated this narrator it was so poorly done . Why the change. Totally took away from the enjoyment of the story!

Narrator....

I love the blessings saga
The one before this was not the best , this one was better but shorter , i would have liked it to be a little longer ..... and like the previous book , I am not a fan of the narrator!!! Her voice was a little better , lisp gone but the male voices were horrible and super low .... I could not hear nor understand Mal half the time and he was a key character !!! Over all I did enjoy the book maybe this could be a show

Another Winner!!

Welp, I have to admit that I was way wrong on this one- I was so angry With Mal(and you too Ms Beverly)for what y'all did to Bernadine! And the thought of him showing his face again made me swear to not purchase another book in this series! However; the old saying is true" never say never"! My curosity got the better of me-well I am a resident of Henry Adams(in my mind- lol) so I had to see what happened.I won't spoil it- but let me say, I'm happy I did! Cudos, you brought it all home!

Not my favorite in the series

The narration should have been the same as other books in this series this was off. And they changed the name from Devin to Devon.

Second Time Sweeter

I love this book and this author. With each installment, I wish there was a town or community like Henrietta. I hope it won't be a long wait for the next installment.

LEARNING FROM YOUR MISTAKES IS SWEETER

Another great book in the Blessings series. It's true, if it's not broke, don't fix it. However, when given a chance to make it right, knock it out the park lol

Good

I liked this book. It has many good points. Listened to Audible. Thought the story flowed okay but the male voices needed a man! The female trying to sound like a man missed the mark. Good read anywho.

Awful Reader!!

Great continuation of Henry Adams saga. Reader of last several books much better. Difficult to differentiate characters in this book because reader use same annoying voice for too m as many, e.g. all children s as Nd all females except Bernadine!!

Second Chances Never Sounded So Good

Love Love LO❤️ VED this installment. This series is just so amazing!
What I love most is that Malachi made a HUGE mistake and he was not easily forgiven by the town as he assumed he would. He’s hurt a lot of people especially he grandkids. Now THAT is art imitating real life! Mal still has his work cut out for him in making restitution and I look forward to him getting back into the town’s & Bernadine’s good graces.
I’m in love and wish there was a Henry Adams for real. This town is growing and I hope Mrs. Jenkins never runs out of ideas and ways to present this absolutely wonderful town and its inhabitants!
I cannot wait for the next one. Brava!
