Publisher's summary

What would you do if you were given a second chance at love?

Do you throw caution to the wind and follow your heart, or do you build an unbreakable fortress around your heart that only a special kind of man can penetrate?

Meet Ella Kemp and Wyatt Easton.

Heartbroken over a devastating loss, Ella is fairly certain that personal happiness just isn't in her future. Everything changes when she meets Wyatt, a sexy beer crafter who, against her will, shakes her out of her stagnant existence and awakens feelings in her that she thought were long dead and it scares the hell out of her. So she decides that it's the perfect time to leave New York City and return to her home in the Pacific Northwest to finally fulfill a lifelong dream of owning and operating her own hotel and evade his advances.

Wyatt has been smitten with Ella since he first laid eyes on her. Everything about the aloof beauty captivates him and obsessed with the painful secrets her eyes hold, he becomes a man with a mission: to make Ella Kemp his.

Contains mature themes.

Good first book

Great storyline, interesting characters and relationships. Mari did a great job with narration of characters. Really elicited emotional responses to situations in the book. Look forward to listening to the next book when or if another book is written; with the circle of friends, there is a lot of potential here.

Excellent and Sizzling

Ella is my girl. I love her strength and her vulnerability at the same time. I am so glad the Wyatt took the leap of faith and to reach out for the love of his life. the journey they take of exciting and you don't want to miss a moment of it. I like the fact that like many couples there are ups and there are Downs. the family aspect of even more and death into your heart about how you feel about your parents and those who raised you. I can't wait for the next installment. even though I read the books oh, it was good to hear them being narrated in such a powerful way.

2 Kindred Souls

Ella & Wyatt's story is a beautiful storm and funny. I have read this story 2 times and now have enjoyed this Audible version. Love DA Young's work.

Narrator's Around the way girl voice

I thought D.A. Young's storyline was interesting and it kept my attention. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. Mari did and okay job with narrating the story. It was better than OKAY but her attempt at an around the way girls voice or cool SISTAH voice fell flat...it was too forced and didn't sound natural.

amazzzzzing as always

This book was amazing the first time I read it and even better with the narrations. I love how Young weaves all of here books together from series to series creating not just a story but an entire universe. You really get to see the characters and start to believe that they actually exist somewhere out there in the world. I couldn't wait to find out what the background behind Ella's icy exterior was after reading the Whiskey Row series and I love how some of its characters were tied into this story without making it so difficult that you had to read the other books to understand who they were in relation to the characters in this book. I can't wait for the narrations/aubiobooks for the other books in this series Fallon and Saih, Charlie and Mike, and finally Divina (V) and Grant you all are next!

Than you D. A. Young

This was such a wonderful love story! I truly appreciated how Ella opened herself to love and although she was afraid and moved with caution she allowed herself to live freely and trust. As always the intimacy in your stories keeps me wanting more. Please continue to give us these amazing storylines and relatable characters.

The best laid plans

Don’t always turn out the way we think they will. This story proves that true but it also reminds us that some of us never stray far from the people we thought we would be all grown up, just the circumstances. Everyone should have a circle of friends like this.
