Madison gets talked into getting a reading from a fortune teller by her best friend Tiffany. She doesn't believe in things like this, but what's the harm? Madison is coming off a bad breakup. She was wronged, big time, by her ex and it seems after being read, her future isn't looking any brighter.
Scott Danger, member if the illustrious Danger family, son of Robert CEO of Danger Enterprises, is the second son and spare. Scott is reminded of this on a daily basis.
A chance meeting at a bar brings them together. Madison is working; Scott is there to drink. At least that was his original plan, but after meeting Madison, now he's not so sure. As the night goes on, they continue to flirt but the night doesn't end as either had planned. Scott leaves not knowing what went wrong. Madison is shaken to her core after remembering what the palm reader had told her earlier in the week. Days later, Scott is still replaying the night he met Madison. Soon they get over the bumps in the road and begin seeing each other. Could Scott be the one to guard over Madison while she guards his heart? Madison worries when the other shoe might drop. Scott? listened bc I couldn't return

I thought it was so promising from the snippet. Then it just got annoying. the lead character is naive and just brushes serious matters under the rug. *Spoiler but not a big one* JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS DRUNK DOES NOT EXCUSE ATTEMPTED RAPE.

Wow wow let this audio sting your heart

Wow wow. Love this one. So much. Lauren Landish knows how to grab your attention from the first word. And this was no exception. I have heard a few of Lauren’s audio and this one so far is my favourite. Lauren writes stories that people go through but with her stories there are happy endings.
Love love both Narrators. I would listen to Melissa and Aaron all the time. . Their voices were so smooth and they brought the characters to life

Madison is a barmaid, who wears too much makeup and is a huge Dolly Parton fan. She has her horoscope read (Scorpio) and is warned of impending heartache. Enter hottie Scottie...a wealthy business man who is enthralled with Madison. The chemistry between the two is sizzling. But can a rich man and a barmaid have a real relationship? I loved these two! Although Scott is wealthy, he is very down to earth and accepts Madison 'as-is'. Maddie, for her part, is not too over the top crazy...lol. We have a wonderful HEA...sigh, now I want a hottie Scottie too!

Is the psychic reading correct?

From the opening of this book, I was hooked. Madison, a hard working, smart women has her palm read and is told she will be stung by a scorpion and will be burned. Coming off of a bad relationship, this is not what she wants to hear. Scott comes into the bar that Madison works at, and when their eyes meet, the chemistry begins. These two are combustible, but Scott being a Scorpio gives Maddie pause. Will this reading come true? Lauren Landish writes a story that is filled with all kinds of intriguing developments. The relationships of family, corporate climbing, different social classes, violent relationships, and true love are just the beginning of this complex story. Throw in the daily horoscopes for good measure, the story evolves and shows how life is not always what is expected, but what is made to expect of it. Maddie and Scott are people with understandable love and fears, and it's easy to relate to each of their situations. I love each had their own family dynamic, Scott with siblings, Maddie with friends who were like family. The melding of their very different lives is so well written by Landish, it feels seamless. I loved this story and would love to see Chase or Olivia's story come next!

The narration of this book is amazing. I love both narrators, but together reading the different POV's energized the story! Melissa Moran's portrayal of Maddie is full of emotion, you can feel the angst, love and hope with each part of Maddie's journey. Pair that with Aaron Shedlock, who gives Scott an alpha protectiveness with a sheer vulnerability and the story is magic.
