Publisher's Summary

When did you last Google yourself? Wealthy businessman, Will Frost, gets woken in the middle of the night by an anonymous caller, asking him exactly this. When Will goes online, he finds a website has been set up in his name, showing photographs of the inside of his home, along with photographs of six houses he has never seen before. In the first of these strange houses, a gruesome murder has already taken place. Will is then told that his own family is in mortal danger. The only way he can keep them safe is to visit each of the houses on the website in person before the police discover what has happened there. Seven houses. Seven gruesome homicides. Seven chances to save his daughter's life...

Scare Me is tale of modern urban terror, for anyone who is ever worried that someone might one day use the internet to track them down and cause them and their family harm.

Slow Goer

If you could sum up Scare Me in three words, what would they be?

Twisted, slow, gruesome

Would you be willing to try another book from Richard Parker? Why or why not?

I am not sure.

Which character – as performed by Rupert Holliday-Evans – was your favorite?

I don't know if I had a favorite. I would almost say the villain in this one

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No not really

Any additional comments?

I had to restart this book several times. I got distracted easily while I was listening to it. It took about an hour to finally get interested. Even then I was still having to rewind parts. This book is like a tank slow and steady

"Scare Me" didn't. No suspense, just violence

Scare Me is a dreadful story that wastes a pretty decent performance by the reader. The plot is highly contrived. The violence is needlessly graphic. There are major characters in the book who serve no purpose in the storyline. The international scope of the story is absurd since there is no hint of where the characters would acquire the resources to travel about as they do. The ending is so unsatisfying that it hints of a sequel in the works. Of course, I have absolutely no desire to read a sequel should one come out, so that's pointless too.

Fantastic book

Where does Scare Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

it is one of the best I have listened to for a long time

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character, Will Frost is my favourite character. You can feel his fear and his total bewilderment as he hasn't a clue what is happening to him or why. He just knows he has to save his daughter at all costs and time is running out

What about Rupert Holliday-Evans’s performance did you like?

He is very easy to listen to and tells the story beautifully. Some narraters can be irritating especially males doing female voices but he was great

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes definitely. You just wanted to know what on earth was going on !

Any additional comments?

I have read thousands of books over the years and there are not many that I cant figure out whats happening , by who and why well before the book finishes but this book kept me guessing right up to the end. Cant wait for his next one
