Publisher's summary

One little wager will determine their fate - a daring escape or falling into temptation with a rakish lord.

Lady Betsy Wilde’s first season was triumphant by any measure, and a duke has proposed - but before marriage, she longs for one last adventure.

No gentleman would agree to her scandalous plan - but Lord Jeremy Roden is no gentleman. He offers a wager. If she wins a billiards game, he’ll provide the breeches.

If he wins...she is his, for one wild night.

But what happens when Jeremy realizes that one night will never be enough?

In the most important battle of his life, he’ll have to convince Betsy to say no to the duke.

Story not consistent

The story is good but needs a new editor. It was not Diana's mom who shot Jeremy. How does the surgery not remember what was written in the book before. You would think they would reread it. I've listen to two minutes of the next book and they already made a mistake on the story from previous books.

Love and war

Jeremy is recovering from the horrors of war while Boadicea is haunted by family history in this serial novel with its moving and empathetic plot, and engaging characters. Eloisa James’ elegant and insightful prose never overshadows the plot or the characters.

Eloisa James works magic again.

She bids you to join smart, warm, sexy and sassy people in the 19th Century for adventure, laughter and passion. What a thoroughly enjoyable ride.

This is the best one of the 4 books.

Alaric’s story was just ok.
North’s story is the worst of the 4 books. Diana had stupid reasons for fleeing.
Parth’s story was too predictable.
Jeremy and Betsy’s story is by far the best. I enjoyed this one.

Love It

I love this series. I have read it in paperback and Kindle and now audio. I do hope she writes more of the Wildes after June's book

Computer Narrators

The narrator sounded like a computer. Her voice didn't have much variation. It grated on my nerves a bit.
