So well written!

This memoir was fantastic. Ione didn’t try to gloss over her life. She shared wonderful, poignant, memories; but was candid about mistakes she made, and how she grew from them. I would recommend this book to anyone, but it’s especially nostalgic and resonant for a GenX-er.

she said everything

one of the most eloquently written memoirs. the details in her stories were so vulnerable and raw. almost as if she were my friend and we were sitting together in real life. loved everything about this audiobook.

I thought I loved her before. This book is so honest and candid. I also loved the walk down memory lane from my high school days. What a gift this book is.

Wow

I have always been a big fan of Ione Skye. She starred in some of my favorite movies of the 80s and 90s, Say Anything and Gas, Food, Lodging-which I can’t recommend enough! Not only this, but her brother’s movie, The In Crowd, played on repeat on HBO and I happily watched it over and over again. But, I never would have imagined what a fascinating life she had.
This memoir is amazing, not just because of the great stories about her many famous friends, but because she really lays herself bare and shares it ALL. you really get the sense that she took an unflinching look at her life so far and shared it honestly. I admire that. It also helps that her stories are just not ordinary. She has such a diverse group of people in her life spanning, music, film, art and fashion. It’s like creativity pulses through her veins and life.

So glad she wrote this. So glad I listened to this. What a gift.

I enjoyed this, and it completely shattered every belief I’ve had about who Ione Skye is as a person- in both good ways, and ways that make my heart hurt for her. Highly recommend.

I loved all of it. Ione Skye who was the it girl of my time, brought me into her life right away. Her story was interesting and funny and deep.
