Perhaps known as much for his partying and boyish good looks, after two gold records and the kind of fame that you just can’t enjoy anymore, the Lemonheads cooled off and life went on.

Dando grew up in Boston, the son of a lawyer and a model, and attended the prestigious Commonwealth School. Fame was never what motivated him but the lure of the wild life proved trickier to refuse. From sneaking into concerts as a child, to sleeping on floors in the punk rock days, to crashing at Johnny Depp’s place in Hollywood, he was right there in the thick of it. So much so, that social media once reported his death.

Now, very much alive, sober, and enjoying a life in South America when he’s not on the road, Evan Dando is going to tell his own story. His memoir will remind listeners what was so great about the pre-internet ’90s: the innocence, the access, and the anonymity. Honest, uncensored, and unapologetic - great insights from an unlikely rock star

Honest, open, unapologetic. A unique memoir that sheds light on an influential band and musical era. Emotional, insightful, and sometimes a bit humorous. Evan's narration (voice) is a bit uneven, but I wouldn't have listened to this if it was narrated by anyone else.

I loved learning about the history of my favorite band and I loved getting to hear Evan’s insight and growth as a person! Really really good time.

I’m so glad Evan narrated. I’ve been a fan of the Lemonheads since I was in college in Boston. I’ve met him a couple times and he was always a gentleman. This is a wonderful telling of a brilliant song writer’s journey. The highs and lows. Honest and humble, crazy and enlightened. Thank you Evan for sharing your story. Must read for any musician and or Dando devotee. Cheers.

Interesting but garbled

Dando has a pretty compelling origin story but it was hard to get through the narrative due to his garbled, slurred speech pattern. In a sense that comes off occasionally more endearing and honest rather than detrimental.
A little bit heavy on the name dropping, which I guess is to be expected from a famous frontman’s history in the heyday of the alternative/college rock explosion. Some interesting stuff but a few bits fall flat. It was kinda like having one of my drunk indie rock buddies tell me his life story while we were waiting for the coke guy to show up, or vise versa.
Dando is one good looking and very talented dude, but it’s still hard for some of us less talented regular looking dudes to hate him.
