Interesting Series

This Boxed Set includes the four books in the Series: Shooting the SEAL, Hacking the SEAL, Trusting the SEAL, and Hunting with the SEAL. This military romance Series is interesting, and action packed. Matt Haynes has a great voice, but unfortunately his reading wasn't really entertaining, and the characters weren't easy to distinguish.

Saving the Seals: The Complete Series

Would you consider the audio edition of Saving the SEALs to be better than the print version?

Absolutely! It is like watching a movie in my head as I hear the story being read out loud! I loved the way Matt Haynes brought this story to life.

What did you like best about this story?

The alpha males saving the day, trying to figure out who the bad guy is and as always saving the "day"!

Have you listened to any of Matt Haynes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first time listening to Matt Haynes and he did an exceptional job with this series. I hope to find other work by him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The moments when each couple figured out that life had changed for them forever because they were in love.

Any additional comments?

I read this series myself a while back and hearing it read made the experience of this book much more enjoyable!

Hot Seals Ahead!

What did you love best about Saving the SEALs?

I've read the books singularly. I love the intrigue of the series and the temptation of the heroes.

What did you like best about this story?

ACTION, ACTION, ACTION!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Too much monotony and not enough feeling.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Never a dull moment.

Any additional comments?

Great series! Disappointed in the narration.

An OK read with poor narrator..

SHOOTING THE SEAL Book 1

This was a story about Gage and Anna, how he went into the publishing company looking for answers and she mistook him for a model, since she’s the one who took the photos for the book covers. Overall, it was pretty exciting, with Anna’s building exploding, her condo getting burned up and then her being kidnapped, and rescued by Gage, Kyle, Spencer and Scott.

This could have been better IF they hadn’t declared their love after only a few days of knowing each other. I hate insta-love but I suppose you have to accept in a story with only 174 pages. Really though, it could have been left as they had feelings and they’d see where it took them. Not “I love you,” after 3 or 4 days.

There was explicit sex in this book, plenty of words or thoughts that led up to it.

The F-BOMB was let loose around 100 times through the entire set of stories, so if you don’t like that word stay away from this set of books.

HACKING THE SEAL Book 2

This was about Scotty and Hayley. She works for the FBI and is one awesome hacker. She and Scotty met while looking for the widow of a dead seal, Natalie. After talking it over the two decided that working together would be much better than working separately, plus Scotty wanted to get her into his bed. Again there was a great amount of excitement, even when Scotty, Kyle, Gage and Spencer all had guns held to their heads and Michelle had given the word to kill them all. Needless to say, it didn’t go well, for the guys with the guns.

Again we had “I love you” after only a few days, as the other two books will have, I’m sure. And there was explicit sex, AND let me remind you that the F-bomb was used 100 times in all 4 books.

TRUSTING THE SEAL Book 3

This is about Spencer and Toni. She’s a wealthy heiress and Spencer played her bodyguard. I didn’t like this story that much because she was going to a Muslim country and they were sending her notes telling her she would be killed or beheaded if she came to their country, to give away thousands of E-readers to the poor, but she insisted on going anyway. That’s just stupid. I like strong, brave heroines but I don’t go for the really stupid ones. Anyway, I was glad when it was over.

There was also explicit sex in this book and they declared their love after knowing each other a week but not seeing each other for a month because his team arrested her murdering father and she was mad. Really?

HUNTING THE SEAL Book 4

This was my least favorite of the series because these two, Kyle and Natalie, thought of sex constantly, and at the most ridiculous times. Someone ran them off the road and they went barreling off into trees, the through a gully then rolled three or four times. They both had cuts and bruises and were bleeding and this is Natalie’s thoughts while she’s trying to bring Kyle back to consciousness, “Somehow, the bruises and scratches from the accident only added to his rugged appeal and if he hadn’t been passed out and her knees hadn’t been shaking so bad, she would’ve been all over him like sizzle on bacon right here in the middle of nowhere.” Who would seriously think that kind of crap at a time like that? There were so much thoughts of sex in this last book I started rolling my eyes. No matter the dire circumstances they were in one or the other was thinking about sex. It was totally ridiculous.

I was so glad when it was over. What should have been all about the capture of Miles Arrietta and stopping the downfall of the World Wide Web all over the world turned into a lust-fest through the whole story. This author was more interested in the sexual aspect of the book than the storyline. It could have been a great collection but it just an OK read for me.

I really liked the SEALs and their women but that didn't make up for the lack of story. Well, I didn't like Natalie all that much but I did the others.'

As to the narrator: Don’t believe what some of them said about Matt Haynes. He has a nice reading voice for the men but he stinks at the women’s voices. I had to skip the sex, unless you want to hear what sounds like two men having sex. AND he reads without a bit of emotion. All he does is read the books. The women sounded way too much like men.

Awesome Storyline

Definitely worth listening to this audiobook. Leslie wrote a good suspenseful storyline. Once you get used to the narrator you can really get into the story.

On my list of worst military romances I have read

The story idea had promise but with each book the story and writing fell off the deep end. The characters were shallow, the story was hard to follow and the writing was entry level. I'm not sure if this was the writers first book. I paid $20 for the series and I'm going to ask for a refund
