HAILEY
One man. Two names. Two personalities.
One captivates, the other terrifies.
Under the pretense of love, he used me, searching for secrets I didn't know I had. Cuddles, kisses, and whispered sweet nothings lulled me into a false sense of security that shattered with a single flashback.
Running from the threat I now know he is, I fall straight into a nightmare… and the darkness reveals the truths.
I’m not the center of Nash’s world. I’m a piece in Carter’s game.
CARTER
There’s no beauty in this chaos. There’s only pain.
Hailey Scarlett Vaughn vanished without a trace, leaving me teetering on the edge of sanity.
She was my mission and became my obsession. My sweet downfall.
And now she’s gone.
As the threats multiply and enemies close in to exploit the prize in Hailey’s mind, I carve a path of destruction, desperate to keep her safe.
But it’s not until I find her that I understand she’s no longer mine… I broke her with my lies.
Saving Hailey is not a standalone. You must listen to Breaking Hailey first.

This duet and therefore this second part was so good.
This is the perfect conclusion of Hailey and Carter’s story. Not too shallow not too confused.
Every pieces come in place at the right pace.
TW: please be aware that the beginning of this book is about trafficking. It can be really triggering.
What a great performance!

This book really delivers on closure. We finally get the full truth behind Hailey’s accident, what led up to it, what happened to Carter’s sister, and where all that crucial evidence has been hiding. Everything clicks into place in a way that feels satisfying without being rushed—which is not easy to pull off.
Now… let’s talk about Hailey.
I get it. She’s young. She’s been living in survival mode for years. Trauma, grief, abandonment—she’s been through it. But wow, this girl will trust the wrong people with zero hesitation, yet somehow second-guess the one person who has proven—again and again—that he would burn the world down for her (hi Carter). That push-pull got frustrating. And I’m sorry, but how do we go this whole time without her properly acknowledging Carter’s loss?? That one really stuck with me.
Also… Carter calling her “so strong” every five seconds? I don’t know, I felt like she was coping more than conquering. There’s a difference.
BUT—Carter himself? 🔥 No notes. Watching him fight to rebuild her trust while protecting her and plotting to take down his father was everything. The man is locked in.
And the action?? The extraction scene at Blaze’s mansion was hands down one of the best moments in the book—tense, chaotic, and cinematic in the best way. Add in the found family dynamic with the crew, and those scenes just hit. You can feel the loyalty, the stakes, and the “we ride together” energy.
Overall, this was a strong, satisfying conclusion. A little frustration with Hailey kept it from a full 5 stars, but the plot payoff, Carter supremacy, and that found family energy absolutely carried it.
If you made it through book one—don’t even hesitate. You need this ending.
