Disappointing Ending
Book 2 was disappointing in several ways compared to Book 1. As the action picked up, the individual character storylines became confusing and more difficult to understand and follow. Everything moved toward a major do or die showdown, only to have a contrived failure and leave a cliffhanger to force a third book. No thank you. I'm done with this series. The one real positive feature was the excellent audible narration. That more than anything kept me going to the end.

Great Addition
Instead of stalling out story wise, this second book just adds to the tension that the reader was left with after book one. It's like a foundational building. And the flashbacks are very telling. It's also nice to listen to a book with minimal swearing, etc. so that you feel you're listening to an actual story rather than filler. Ray Porter is exceptional as always.

Time to Rise!
A strong second book in the saga of recapturing Earth from the alien occupation. The time has come to try to defeat the overlords or be alienated, as a bridge to the home planet is about to be opened. The story focuses on 25 years of planning, not only by Tom's group, but others that have been working all these years for this final battle. Each of our focus survivors, has a separate agenda to bring together a massive attack on the occupiers' bridge. The outcome or who will survive is not obvious, making a perfect setup for book 3.
As always Ray Porter pulls it off perfectly.

Great story
This is a great story if you are into space operas and throw in post apocalypse and it falls into my favorite genre. Of course Ray Porter makes it even better with his narration. He is one of the best for space opera narration. This book got even better than the first and didn't disappoint on the action and suspense. Can't wait to see what happens next.

So good💚
Like bk1 Salvation is action packed and suspenseful throughout. The Reclaimers' uprising plans are taking shape and the end is in sight.
The Overseers actually play little direct part in the story it's really all about the characters differeing roles and interconnected stories.
Now I just have to wait until next month for book 3.
Ray Porter as always provided excellent narration.

What happened
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, the series starts strong, somewhere the author loses his way, The story isnt bad, just unbelievable at points, too many people in odd locations doing stupid stuff, and our Alien overlords are dumb as bricks, but Ray Porter is excellent, a strong C for story but a B overall, Ray Porter saves the day

an ok 2nd book...
This trilogy should be in the 3 for 1 credit list....
Book 1 just about peaked my interest to get book 2...
Book 2 went a tad further and wanted me to get book 3...
That said its VERY easy listening with no complicated plot lines so if your usual listen is whilst driving, this series would fit that bill...I on the other hand need a little more substance to keep my sci-fi buzz going....
Ray Porter is yet again outstanding and to be honest its the reason why I carried on....
I highly recommend NOT ALONE...
