SQL explained straightforwardly

This teaching style is very good, Meat and potatoes --- take a concept, explain it, show it in queries, show the result. Wash, rinse, repeat. I love it.

Great teaching book

I've learned enough from this SQL book and the Beginner book before it to be tested on it at jobs. I work in QA, and don't need to build databases or manage them. I do need to comb them for data frequently, and I have all the techniques I could need between these two books. The author did a great job consolodating the information into solid, straightforward, digestible bites.

Good coverage of SQL concepts

The book delivers exactly what it says. Its coverage of intermediate SQL concepts is enough to put you squarely at mid-level mastery. Loving the teaching style for this series.

Plugged a hole in my knowledge

I knew enough SQL to get through an interview, but I needed more to function quickly in a work environment. This did the trick! I can get my info much faster when diagnosing problems now. I've cut down my response timeby over 10%. Thank you Keith Dvorjak!

Intermediate Level Sequel

Just as the title says. You'll go from novice SQL user to mid level by the time you complete the book. If you already have the basics, you'll be using conditions and joins on the regular when you finish this.

Awesome reference material

I used this book in conjunction with my textbook for a class I was taking on database manipulation. When the instruction in class was a little unclear, I could research the same concept here and bridge the gap. Very helpful book!

Sequel to SQL

This book helped me navigate relational databases like a pro. Writing semi-complex queries the first time prevents you from needing to write multiple basic queries over and over again, only getting bits of information each time. This was a nice jump from the beginner book to the intermediate.

Well written follow up

This is a great follow up effort from the last book. The Intermediate book goes into more detail and gives users with some basic SQL knowledge a little more meat to their skills. I highly recommend it!
