Publisher's summary

Sometimes, the quest for vengeance can cost more than you’re willing to pay.

Blakely Sullivan was a foreign aid worker in the Middle East when a deadly bombing took the lives of families she’d come to know and love, collateral damage in someone else’s war. She’s spent the last year coming to terms with the senseless loss, healing from the pain, and trying to ease the guilt of someone equally important—the special forces soldier she grew close to on her mission. Ryker blames himself for the deaths, and when he won’t take her calls, she has no choice but to seek him out.

Ryker Harp’s final mission as a Delta ended in devastation and loss. Not only did he and his teammates barely escape Beirut with their lives, but locals he’d befriended were targeted by the enemy. Since leaving the military, his life has taken more than one unexpected turn, but the guilt remains, and so does his ultimate goal: to annihilate the man who caused such death and destruction. He can’t allow any distractions—least of all a beautiful aid worker he can’t forget.

When Blakely shows up in Lindeman, Ryker tries to keep his distance to ensure her safety. But it’s too late. His enemy has found him. And history may repeat itself if Ryker can’t protect everyone he loves most...starting with Blakely.

Oh my gosh!!!!

Oh my gosh! I was so excited to finally get his story but now that it is over I am in ahhh at what Nyssa Kathryn did with it!
Ryker, haunted by his past, had so many demons that he would not give into the temptation of having someone care for him or him care for anyone! He did that once and he got the people that she cared about hurt and he would never risk that again.
Blakely fell in love with Ryker years ago and they spoke about their lives when they both got done with the requirements of their jobs but that didn’t happen! Blakely didn’t know why Ryker disappeared, ghosted her for so long but she planned to find out.

Blakely shows up and Ryker freaks out but Blakely is bound and determined to help Ryker face his demons and get their relationship back on track where it should have been anyway.

Great ending to Mercy Ring but now I hate to see it end! Time for rereads on this series and looking forward to the upcoming series, beginning with Erik’s Salvation!

Great Finish to a series

• Thoughts:
I am so sad that Mercy Ring is over. It was a great series and ended on a great note and leaving it open for Erick!! Yay!!!

My only complaint was that I was not a fan of how much back and forth there was. I am all for sticking with someone because they are stubborn, and you want to slap them to see reason. But I was ready for Blakley to go, duces. Come find me when you've got your head on straight.
Buuuutttttt, I also get the guilt and worry that Ryker was facing! The loss he experienced, hell his own team being hurt while on that mission was rough, but hot damn poor Blakely. The action and the ability for this story to grip you right away was fantastic. I enjoyed the fast pace. But Blakleys heart spoke volumes, and what she would do to keep him safe, she would do anything. You can see their protectiveness with one another. Even when Ryker was fighting it hard core!! Men.... geez. Lol. I am so glad Ryker and Blakley found their happy!! This little series has been the best!!! Go pick up this series today! and as always, I look forward to Nyssa's next book! I truly enjoy Nyssa 's writing. What another great series!

Same narrators as the first 3 books Tim Paige and Stella Bloom and guess what?! they Still rocked it! they did a great job narrating all of this series!

What an amazing end to the series.

Nyssa Kathryn left all the best surprises and mystery for the end of this series. I was on the edge the whole time waiting for the bad guy to be revealed . I love the story of Ryker and Blakely and how they ended up being each others savior from the trauma they had been facing.

BEST FOR LAST!

An awesome conclusion to Nyssa Kathryn's Mercy Ring series! Ryker and Blakely find their HEA amid some scary events related to their service in Lebanon. Instead of telling more about the story, here are excerpts that show the depth of Kathryn's writing:
Ryker explains to Blakely why he believes they can't be together: "Because my world has monsters lurking in the corners, Blakely, and I don't want you anywhere near them."
"The memory had gotten him through his worst days. It was the air in his lungs when he couldn't breathe, and the sun on his skin where there was only darkness and cold."
Erik, Ryker's close friend, describing exactly how Ryker feels: "Like the darkness inside you is simultaneously your destruction, and your only reason for living."
Tim Paige and Stella Bloom are awesome as always. A wonderful series ends, but another is on the horizon with Erik's story!!!

Saved the best for last

Ryker and Blakely’s story is filled with suspense, a guilt-ridden hero and a heroine determined to prove that her love is enough. It would have been really easy for Blakely to walk away after being rejected so many times, but her determination paid off in the end.

My only qualm was just how stubborn and hardheaded Ryker could be. There's one thing to feel guilt for what happened during his last mission, but to completely alienate yourself from the woman you obviously care for deeply was frustrating! I wanted to smack him in the head! Fortunately he got his act together!

The narrators, Tim Paige and Stella Bloom, once again did a great job! I have really enjoyed them in all four books of the series.

Thank you BlueNose Audio for the ALC.

Gripping

This was an entertaining romantic suspense story that ticked all the boxes for me. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story that was told. There were equal amounts of romance and suspense which was entertaining. The characters were easy to relate to and I really liked them. The chemistry between them was intense and I found myself laughing out loud on a number of occasions with the witty banter and humour. The narrator certainly did justice to the characters and the wonderful story that the author created.
