Whether it's poker or trial law, wisecracking Rita Morrone plays to win, especially when she takes on the defense of the Honorable Fiske Hamilton, a prominent federal judge accused of sexual harassment. And it's no coincidence that the judge is her live-in lover's father. Then the action turns deadly, and Rita finds herself at the center of a murder case. She probes deep into the murder, uncovering a secret life and suspects in shocking places. When the killer viciously ups the ante, Rita decides to end this lethal game. She lays it all on the line for the highest stakes ever -- her life.

Karen Allen is a great narrator, I will search for books she narrates. Morreno is one feisty attorney. If this is a series I will buy more.

The story was good, but the narration ruined it for me. Beyond dreadful, it almost made me stop listening on several occasions.
I won't listen to another by this narrator.

What made the experience of listening to Running from the Law the most enjoyable?

I liked Karen Allen's performance; it was my first time listening to her and she did a great job.

Would you recommend Running from the Law to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, though it was a bit predictable, especially what was supposed to be the final "twist" - you could see it coming for a mile. Happy it did end the way it did, though.

Which scene was your favorite?

The protagonist's discovery of something that changed her life.

Predictable, but fun

Throughout the story I wanted to hear someone else. The voice sounded like she had a sore throat. Very distracting. Good story

Enjoyed story in spite of performance

I just realized this is the abridged version… I should have read that on the audiobook cover…
