Lots of twists throughout the book. Eric's final date with Lori, a twist out of nowhere...

If you liked Lisa's other works, you'll love this one. I couldn't put it down - finished it in four days. Great story line, keeps you on the edge until the surprise ending. Worth it!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eric. He always tried to do the right thing, but he did make some dumb mistakes. Poor judgement got him deeper and deeper in the quicksand.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Lorie comes to her senses and settles things between them.

Excellent, exciting and unexpected! Lisa Scottoline hit it out of the park with this one. It was well worth the credit.

What does George Newbern bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was an excellent narrator. George really gives attitude, mystery & life to his characters with great voice inflection. Really enjoyed him.

Any additional comments?

Some books are just ok, some take you on a little journey, well, this book takes you on the ride of a lifetime. You will not be able to put it down and if you happen to be able to step away from it for even a second, rest assure, that you will be thinking of it the entire time.

Even at the very end of the book, I was still figuring out exactly who the culprits were. Your mind is racing the entire book trying to figure out who is setting your main character up, but just a little hint, pay close attention to the unsuspecting strangers.

If you enjoy mysteries, psychology, sociopaths, and just plain good books, then you will enjoy this thriller.

Fun, though over the top

Well, at first this was just stressful, with everything going wrong that could. By the end, it was sort of ridiculous. The super awesome psychiatrist misses everything around him. Then (mild spoiler) everything is fixed within a day.
So why did I give it 4 stars? The characters were very likeable! And the author clearly put a lot of research into the field she writes about, which is interesting. So, aside from the ridiculous ending, it ended up being a fun listen, even though every character probably needed therapy in the end.

slow at first with a jaw dropping ending

it was hard to make ot thru some of the early chapters, they felt long and overly detailed. the end was magnificent with so many flips and changes i felt the rug had been pulled out from under me.

I loved the character development because it made me totally interested in whatever the story was going to be.....and the story was sensational !
I would call it a realistic thriller because what happened was a nightmare, but really could happen in anybody's life , unfortunately. excellent narrator !
